Born in Germany, she came to America and to Illinois in her youth. She was married to Henry Stirtz, and they came to Harrison county living for several years near Logan at the intersection of the Logan-Magnolia and Glen roads. Twenty-nine years ago,she moved to Elmwood, Nebr., and five years later to Council Bluffs. Nine children were born to them: Lydia who died in Magnolia in 1903, Mrs. Lizzie Lorenz, died in Colorado in 1913; Philip whose death occured in Kansas in 1932; Walter died in Magnolia in February 1934; and surviving, William of Magnolia; Daniel of Omaha; Ed. C. of Missouri Valley; Mrs. Emma Lorenz of Topeka, Kans., and Ella at home. Surviving also are 29 grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. She was a member of the Evangelical church. The funeral will be heldat Council Bluffs Thursday, February 14, at 1:00 p.m.. Interment in magnolia! cemetery. She is kindly remembered by many friends and acquaintances.
