Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. To 7:30 p.m. Friday October 27, 2006, at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th St., Omaha, Neb. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2006, at Roeder Mortuary with Pastor Irving Malm officiating. Inurnment of the ashes will follow the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha. John was born on February 7, 1928, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, to the late Frank and Leone (Betchell) Reed. He graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1946, and served in the United States Army in the Korean War from 1950-1952. John was employed by Safeway grocery stores for over 42 years and was an active member of Christ Community Church in Omaha for over 25 years. In 2005 John moved to Columbia, Mo., to be closer to three of his four children and enjoyed worshiping at Forum Boulevard Christian Church with his family. John is survived by his former wife: Gwynette of Columbia; four children: Jim (Karen) Reed of Omaha, Neb.; Joanie Reed of Columbia; Lori (Paul) Garrett of Moberly and Amy Brinkman of Columbia; three sisters: Marge Teague of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Bess Stewart of Garden Grove, Calif., and Nina Jenkins of Stewartville, Minn., as well as six grandchildren: Jessica Thompson, Emily Reed, Sean (Shanna) Garrett, Tyler Garrett, Maddie Bexten and Callie Brinkman. John was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Reed and one sister, Alma Stueve. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Tom Stebbins, Evangelism Explosion International, P.O.
