Interesting, Do you know anything of Jane Aker's line? My mother's line are from the same area as Daniel Boone, one of my great uncles is recorded as a frequent member of his hunting parties. Several if my ancestors are named Daniel Boone (Boone as a middle name - both my gggg and ggg are Daniel Boone Auxiers [Sr. & jr.]). The Auxier name has evolved in spelling. I looked but could not find the Boone connection you refered to, I wanted to check on whose Jane's parents were - do you have any info on her? I just wonder if she could have been an Auxier? Just wondering, Cec Barton-Murrah In reference to Message Board Post: > > Yes I found a link to Daniel Boone. Richard Andrew Harris married his second wife Alice Bogecki (Bogocki, Boysky) in 1905 at Woodbine. They had five living children Paul, Bessie, Celia, Carl, Andrew, & Willard Harris. I am having trouble finding anything for Alice. She has listed her birthplace as Colorado and Wisconsin. I know she died in Wisconsin in 1939. But can find no record of her before her marriage and I don't know her parent's names. I was told they were Polish or German. She lists her fathers name as John on her marriage certificate but the last name spelling is killing me! Can't find anything. I do remember stories that they lived in Colorado at one time and a little brother died lost in a snowstorm. Can somebody help me with the spelling? Any common spellings for this pronounciation? Thank you Linda

Bourn Sr., one of its oldest and most respected citizens. The deceased had not been in good health for some months but had been confined to his home less than a week and only yesterday morning was reported better. Heart failure was the immediate cause of his death. Mr.Bourn was born in Lancanshire, England, August 1, 1830 coming to the United States with the parents and settling in Indiana in 1850. In the spring of1855 he came to Harrison county and began work for T. A. Dennis, who ran a saw mill about three miles northwest of the present site of Modale and near which place he afterwards secured the land which now comprises his fine farm. In 1859 with a party he drove through to Oregon with an emigrant tra! in, it taking them some four months to make the trip one way. He returned to this county in 1860 and has been a resident of this vicinity since. Mr. Bourn, in August 1863, enlisted in Company C, Twenty-Ninth Iowa Infantry, and saw three years of very active service in the south. Arbaugh Meets Sudden Death One of our respected citizens, Jesse L. Arbaugh, died by sudden heart failure at his home Tuesday, (December 9, 1919.) He had been in his usual health and there was no warning. His children Schuyler and Miss Bertha were in town and when they went home were surprised to find him out of the house. They began to search as the night was bitter cold. He was found in the corn crib dead, where he had gone to get corn for feeding. It was evident that the thread of life had snapped in an instant and he had fallen over without a struggle. The body was not yet cold when found. Mr. Arbaugh had lived here for about 35 years and was known as the man who never had an enemy. He was a veteran of the civil war and was 77 years old past. Before moving to his late home he resided at Modale. His wife died a couple of years ago and was buried at Magnolia, where he will be placed after the service which will probably be held Saturday. The time has not yet been decided on as it is not known how soon his children can reach here who live at a distance.
