Hello everyone, I am hoping to find someone who is related to this Smith family. I have them fairly well-documented in the United States since 1860, but I cannot find any information to indicate where to look for them in England. I would appreciate any information at all about this family. I am hoping to connect with some cousins who are also researching this Smith family. Charlotte (maiden name unknown) was born about Nov 1824 in England. She married William Smith (1819-1881) and had seven children with him. They came from England in 1855 or 1857. They first settled in Johnson County, Iowa and they are on the 1860 and 1870 censuses in Clear Creek Township. In 1880, they were in Guthrie County, Iowa. William Smith died in Guthrie County in 1881. Charlotte moved to Harrison County, Iowa with her daughter and his husband. Her sons, William, Charles, and George, also lived in Harrison County. Charles moved on to South Dakota, but William, George, and Catherine stayed in the area. Charlotte died in Harrison County in 1908 and is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The children of Charlotte and William Smith are: 1) William Smith (1843-1916). He married Barbara Ellen Robertson (1847-1915). They are both buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. They had children John William (1867-1933), James H. (1869-1947), Charles E. (1870-1895), Thomas (1874-?), Frederick (1875-1907), Hubert (1878-?), Oscar Benson (1880-?), Abe B. (1883-1962), Ruben (1885-?), Lula (1887-?), Lola (1889-?), and Lelia J. (1891-?). The list may be incomplete. 2) Charles Smith (1847-1930). He married Estelle Holliday (1859-1950). They had children James William (1875-1939), Lilliam Mae (1880-1977), Claude L. (1885-?), Clifford Lee (1885-1930), and Irene Smith (1890-1970). 3) George E. Smith (1852-1932). He married Mary E. Holliday (1854-1938) (sister to Estelle Holliday). They are both buried in Woodbine Cemetery in Harrison County. They had children George Edward (1876-?), Alvah E. (1884-?), and Harry (1884-?). 4) Smith, died as infant. 5) Smith, died as infant. 6) John Smith, (1859- probably before 1870). 7) Catharine V. Smith (1862-1942). She married Albert O. Smith (1858-1942). They are both buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. They had children Arnold (1883-?), Charlotte (1885-?), Henry C. (1886-1886), Robert (1890-?), Florance (1892-?), Miama (1895-?), Katherine (1902-?), Alberta (1905-?). Thanks for any help anyone can give. Heather
