Orland was born December 7, 1926 near Earling, Iowa to parents Forrest F. and Eva (Mayer) Densmore. He attended country school near Buck Grove then high school in Defiance. In 1943 he married Esther Mary Herrera from Dallas, Texas where he served in the Navy. Orland worked as a painter at LTV Aircraft in Dallas, Texas for 24 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; two infant daughters, Pamela and Tony and his parents. He is survived by five children who were the highlight of his life, Charlene Holloway of Roanoke, Texas, Cherry Holloway (David) of Arlington, Texas, Pepper Jo Briggs (Joe) of Arlington, Texas, Forrest Densmore of Pickton, Texas and Daniel Densmore of Grand Prairie, Texas. Orland also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Eunabelle Brewster of Wilbur, Ark., Elaine Smith of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Marjorie Spencer Fox of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Darlene Carrigan of Dunlap; brother, Darrell Densmore of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; uncle, Don Densmore of Dunlap. Funeral services were held at Lakeside Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas., with Pastor N. J. Gros officiating. Arthur Busby and Rochelle Gros furnished the violin and vocal music. She died Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at her home in Dow City, Iowa at the age of seventy-one. Phyllis was born in Fort Dodge and was baptized there as an infant. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak on March 30, 1947 and received her education at St. John's Lutheran School. Alter completing her education, she worked for her father on the farm and helped various families with house cleaning. She later moved to Carroll, where she began working at the Casino Cafe as a waitress. On November 8, 1954, Phyllis was united in marriage to Nicholas Feller in Carroll. The couple made their home in Carroll for a short time, then moved to LeMars and were blessed with the birth of five children. Phyllis worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the LeMars hospital. In 1964, Nick passed away and Phyllis moved her family to Charter Oak. On March 25, 1966, she was united in marriage to Elmer Bockelmann at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. The couple was blessed with the birth of a daughter. Phyllis spent her life caring for others, working as a CNA at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, at Crawford County Home Health, and worked at the Denison Care Center. She also worked privately for families, caring for their loved ones whenever she was needed. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, having made blankets for each of her children; and going to the casino. She was a wonderful cook, always making huge breakfasts of pancakes and eggs for her family, and was the greatest brownie maker around as she was famous for her "Iowa Brownies". She was a very loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law, who did so much for her children. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Nicholas Feller and Elmer Bockelmann; two grandchildren, Mark Feller II, and Nicole Feller; one step-son, Larry Bockelmann; and her sister, Margorie Nathlich. Survivors include three sons: Nicholas Feller Jr. and his wife Angela of Fort Morgan, Colo., Mark Feller and his wife Sue of Denison and Daniel Feller of Belmond; three daughters, Cynthia Larson and her husband Roger of Defiance, Pam Ehlers and her husband Robert of Dunlap, and Lisa Arnold and her special friend Russell Cornelius of Missouri Valley; one step-son, Paul Bockelmann and his wife Judy of Charter Oak; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her special friend of twenty-seven years, Ernie Plough; and two sisters, Darlene Dose and her husband Bud of Anthon and Julianne O'Neal and her husband Allen of Redfield; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2004 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Rev. Kurt Kaiser and Rev. David Sewing officiated the services and grave side rites held at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Charter Oak. Organist Jean Dommer provided accompaniment for soloist Makayla Beeck as she sang "Blessed Savior, Who Hast Taught Me," and for congregational hymns "How Great Thou Art," and Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me." Those serving as honorary pallbearers were Todd Bockelmann, Samantha Feller, Jenny Malone, Scott Bockelmann, Heather Arnold; Steven Arnold and Gina Ehlers. Those serving as pallbearers were Mike Krajicek Jr., Shane Ehlers, Jacob Feller, Michael Feller, Jason Feller and Adam Feller. The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements. Catherine was born November 25, 1914, to Enos and Ida (Brundidge) Kline in rural Dunlap. Catherine lived in the Dunlap and Dow City areas where she attended country school and then worked for area families. September 18, 1931, Catherine was united in marriage to LeRoy Rose. They farmed west of Dunlap. In 1938, they bought a farm in the Gallands Grove area. In 1968, they moved into Dunlap. Catherine was a member of the Congregational Church, and was an active member of the Senior Citizens Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; her parents; a great-grandchild, Kayla Allen; and her brother, Ted Kline. Survivors include her son, Jim Rose and wife Norma Jean of Deloit; two daughters, Betty and husband Bob Schlensig of Morristown, Ariz., and Janice and husband Fonley Allen of Dunlap; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Blanche Smith of Omaha, Neb., Maymie Shumate of Dunlap and Mary Ellen and husband Raymond Segebart of Dow City; and one brother, Ray and wife Kate Kline of Denison.

The couple lived in Council Bluffs until 1959 when they moved to Woodbine. Jim worked for the Harrison County Road Department for 14 years then operated Mathison Construction and a lawn mower repair and sales shop. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Logan, Woodbine American Legion Weiss Post #143 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Jim had been the Chaplain of the VFW. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Forest. Jim is survived by his wife, Lucille Mathison of Woodbine; five children, Karen and Jerry Kelley of Harlan; Keith Mathison and Diane of Woodbine; Gale Mathison and Kimberly of Papillion; Jeff Mathison and Robin of Omaha, Neb. and Lynette and Daniel Moores of Woodbine; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. On November 24, 1937, Irene married Lloyd Dougal in Charles City. The couple lived in Charles City until moving to the Dunlap area where they farmed. Lloyd died on July 15, 1991. She was a member of Dunlap First United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Friendly Neighbors Club, Tuesday Morning Coffee Club and an honorary member of the Dunlap Historical Society. Irene donated the Dougal House to the Dunlap Historical Society. Irene liked antiques, quilting and other handiwork. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lloyd and a brother, Ray Lessin. Irene is survived by a son, Ronald and Carol Dougal of Redwood, Calif.; two daughters, Barbara and Jim Donnelly of Woodstock, Ill., and Francine and Robert Krapp of Des Moines; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Iola Washburn of Des Moines and other relatives and friends. Memorials may be given to her church or the Dunlap Rescue Unit. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, November 14, 2000, at the First United Methodist Church in Dunlap. Rev. The couple farmed in the Dunlap area in the summer, and during the winter months Gerry worked in the produce industry in California for 20 years. He has lived and worked in the Dunlap area since 1964. Gerry was an avid fisherman, golfer and raspberry grower. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Kenneth and Dick. Survivors include his wife, Lorene of Dunlap; a daughter, Geraldine of Eugene, Ore.; three sons, John, and Richard and wife Jennifer all of Dunlap, and David and wife Yolanda of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Lois Arnstad of Fullerton, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Patrick Davis, 86, of Council Bluffs died Sunday, November 26, 2000, at Indian Hills Nursing Home in Council Bluffs. He was born Sept. 16, 1914, in Dunlap to Fred and Agnes (Grady) Davis, graduated from Dunlap High School in 1932 and graduated from Boyles Business College. He moved to Council Bluffs in 1941. He was a time keeper for the Union Pacific Railroad for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Holy Family Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 10722. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia C., on Dec. 16, 1973, and his second wife, Eleanor, on June 15, 1995. Survivors include three daughters, JoAnn Priggel of St. Louis, Mary Kay Webb and husband Joseph of Omaha, Neb., and Peggy Arnold and husband Lloyd of Council Bluffs; three sons, Patrick E. and Thomas J. and wife Louetta, all of Council Bluffs and Michael J. of Beebeetown; three stepdaughters, Mary Ann Kuk and husband Bill of Council Bluffs, Joan Slapkauskas of Omaha, Neb., and Susan Burke of San Raphael, Calif; five stepsons, Patrick D. Lawson of Culpepper, Va., Daniel R. Lawson of South Bend, Ind., Thomas K. Lawson and James J. Lawson, both of Sheridan, Wyo., and Terrance J. Lawson and wife Pat of Council Bluffs; a sister-Madeline Snethen and husband Howard of Council Bluffs; five half-sisters, Betty Hartwig and Dorothy Albert, both of Dunlap, Ruth Nagangast and husband Jack of Varina, Sally Ann Mitchell and husband Charles of Dow City and Ila Jane Buffum of Logan; a brother, Jordan and wife Marie of Des Moines; two half-brothers, William Davis of Chicago, Ill., and J! erald Davis and wife Jennie of Mondamin; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A wake service was held Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at Belford-O'Neill Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Council Bluffs with the Rev. Ken Gross officiating. Burial was made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Dunlap. Memorials may be offered to Holy Family Church, Queen of the Apostles Church or the St. Albert High School Booster Club, all of Council Bluffs.

Rex was born March 6, 1922 in Raglan Township to Rex G. and Maebelle C. (Logan) Coffman. He graduated from Magnolia High School with the class of 1938. He served in the U.S. Army infantry during World War II, from 1943 until 1946. Rex lived around the Magnolia area all of his life. He was a longtime farmer. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, and the American Legion, where he served as adjutant from 1975 until 2004, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.). Rex was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Rosemary Jean McFee. Survivors include his nieces, Kim McFee and her husband, Dan McGregor, Huntington Beach, Calif., Susan McFee, Mesa, Ariz.; nephews, Michael McFee and his wife, Debbie, Fremont, Neb., Don McFee and his wife, Cheryl, Omaha; five great-nieces and nephews. Masonic Services were conducted Sept. 1 at Logan Memorial Chapel by Valley Lodg! e No. 232, A.F. & A.M., Missouri Valley. Funeral Services were held Sept. 2 at the funeral home, Pastor Marv Siems, officiant. Organist was Leota Mether, vocalist was Corrine Tupper. Casket bearers were Mark McFee, Eugene Michael, John Lamberson, Larry Wallis, Gene Jacobson and Brent Pohlmann. Interment was in Magnolia Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the V.F.W. Throughout her life Shirley enjoyed camping, playing cards, volunteering with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, the Logan Alumni Association and especially her family and grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Verle, in 1996. They were married 50 years. She was also preceded in death by son, Ron; parents, John C. and Bess Johnsen; sister, Olive Magnussen; and brother, Lynn Johnsen. Hazel (Johnson) Oliver was born Jan. 13, 1913 to Christian and Ella (Nuzum) Johnson in Moorhead. She grew up in the Moorhead area and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1931. Hazel was united in marriage to Glen Oliver on January 12, 1935. The couple began farming on the Gunderson farm southeast of Pisgah. In 1944, they purchased the H.L. Magnet farm, which is still in the family. Hazel had a love for flowers. Her flower gardens were coveted by all those who knew her. She spent much time planting, pruning, watering and weeding her beautiful gardens. Hazel was a giver who spent much of her time doing things for others. Throughout her life, she was actively involved with Ladies Aide and was a long-time member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Hazel enjoyed the simple things in life, especially spending time with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, March 30, 1996; her daughter, Neva Roden, and two brothers, Johnny and Vern. Survivors include three sons, Warren and his wife Rosalie, Magnolia; Gary, Somerset, Oh.; and Gale and special friend Bonnie of Soldier; daughter Glenice Carol and husband Bill Graham, Ahwatukee, Ariz.; son-in-law, Royl Roden and his wife Jane, Pisgah; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held Aug. 28 at the Community of Christ Church, Pisgah, Elder Royl Roden and Evangelist John Lizer, officiants. Musician was Norma Jensen and there was special music by Hazel's grandchildren. Honorary bearers were: Dixie Frisk, Denise Oliver, Dawn Allison, Denee Choice, Davonne Smith, Michelle Moore, Kristi Oliver, Angela Bothwell, Julie Kuhlman, Tara Rife, Gina Birdsall, Jan Evans, Jana Pospisil, and Lance Morin. Ernest Francis (Bud) Luttig was born June 6, 1929, in Fort Calhoun to Carl and Edna (Smith) Luttig. He attended school in Fort Calhoun. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1946, and was discharged in 1951, after serving in the Korean War. He owned and operated the Food King grocery store, located on 33rd and California streets, Omaha. Bud was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Luttig; grandson, Justin Luttig; and a sister, Jean Frohling. He is survived by his sons, Michael Luttig, York, Neb.; Robert Bryan and Corey Luttig, all of Omaha; daughters, Kimberly Munk, Logan; and Cheri Luttig, Blair; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, William J. She loved her wild animals, her cats and her sister's horses. She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband, by her parents and son, Wes.
