He was born September 4, 1963, in Denison, Iowa, and worked in an auto body shop at Tim O'Neill's and Ottos Auto Body for 25 years. The last two years Craig worked for Giant Plumbing. Craig married Kris (Mass) on July 12, 1982, and to this marriage sons, Tim, Matt, and Nick were born. Other survivors include mother and stepfather, Gloria and Bob Mefferd of Arion, Iowa; brothers and wives, Don and Peggy McCoid of Underwood, Scott and Nicole McCoid of Arion; sister, Shawn Malone and her husband, Tyler of Dow City; step brothers and wives, Bobby and Sherry Mefferd of Dunlap, Scott and Peggy Mefferd of Council Bluffs; step sister, Deanna Warnock and husband, Tony of Dunlap; uncle, Steve and wife, Kathy Christenson of Dow City. He attended school in Magnolia and graduated from Magnolia High School. Maurice married LaVonne Bothwell, Sept. 11, 1941 in Pisgah. They farmed in the Magnolia and Pisgah areas for many years. Maurice was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Missouri Valley. He enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards, but most of all, his family. He loved to fish and enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and Mike; sister, Mary Jane Stewart; and infant sister, Esta. Survivors include: his wife, LaVonne, Missouri Valley; daughters, Nancy Iverson and her husband, Vern, Omaha; Bonnie McDunn, Omaha; sisters, Marjorie Sillau, Logan; Phyllis Cuva, Omaha; brother, Pat Stewart, Ashland, Neb.; grandchildren, David McDunn, Stewart McDunn, T! im Iverson; and great-grandson, Tim Iverson II. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 9 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Missouri Valley, Rev. Fr. Bob Harris, celebrant. Organist was Mary Stessman, vocalist was Joanie Petersen. Honorary Bearers were: Carl Michael, Dennis Oliver, Milton Niedermyer, Tim Iverson II, Dennis Nuzum, and Michael Nielsen. On May 1, 1983, she was united in marriage to Alan Rudolph at the Gray United Methodist Church. Two daughters, Wendy Marie and Leslie Rae, were born to this union. They lived in Audubon for a short time and then moved to Gray. Sheila was employed at the Wagon Wheel for several years and then helped her sister, Lisa, at Lil's Diner and later she sold Avon from her home. Sheila was a member of the Gray United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her sister, RoseAnn Wede; her grandparents: Marie Hughes and Albert and Lydia Wede; her uncles: Ernest Wede and William Wede; her aunt Alice Nelson; and her brother-in-law Alan Powell. Violet was a supervisor at Westmont Nursing Home in Logan for 17 years. Her husband Gene died on January 9, 2002. Violet enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren, cooking, gardening and shopping. Violet died on Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa attaining the age of 79 years, four months, and one day. Violet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Maynard Christensen. She is survived by her three children, Tom Bothwell and his wife Peggy of Moorhead, Iowa, Darla Ronk of Omaha, Nebraska and Vicki and her husband Lonnie McHugh of Pisgah, Iowa; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Vernon Christensen and his wife Phyllis of Moorhead, Iowa; special friend Opal Pape of Moorhead, Iowa and many other relatives and friends.     3. I have a cemetery index for Pleasant Hill. I do see your William Arnold Emerson, however they are spelling it Emmerson, but regardless I see he died the date you have listed and it says he died at the age of 33 years 4mos 18 days and that he was a veteran of the Civil War. I have no idea who or where records would be for a burial that early.. Also buried with him is I assume his wife Polly b. Dec 2 1836 d. Nov 6, 1910. Harris, 84, Blair, died July 31 in Hermann, Mo. Mable Agnes (McHugh) Harris was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Pisgah, to Cornelius J. and Elizabeth (Wakehouse) McHugh. She attended Sunny Ridge grade school and graduated from Magnolia High School. She received her teaching certificate from Buena Vista College, Storm Lake. She felt privileged to teach at Wakehouse School, which her grandfather, Conrad Wakehouse, established. She also taught in Missouri Valley. June 24, 1946, she married Voyne Ralph Harris at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Pisgah. The couple made their permanent home in Blair, where they were members of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. As a homemaker and mother, Mable was involved with her local ladies sodality, extension club, the hospital rummage sale, election board and bridge club. Mr. and Mrs. Harris enjoyed many friendships through these organizations, including the Blair Golf Club. Among her other favorite pastimes were gardening, sewing and baking. Her creativity was evident in every special thing she did. Mable was preceded in death by her husband, Voyne, in 1997; a brother, Lawrence McHugh; and sisters, Lucy Perry, Mildred Paseka and Cleta McHugh. Survivors include: her daughters and sons-in-law, Dixie and Morry Hansen, Loveland, Colo., and Constance and Wayne LaBoube, Hermann, Mo.; sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and Carol Harris, Omaha, and Timothy Harris, Berthoud, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Clifford McHugh, Denison; sisters and brother-in-law, Teresa and Clarence Topf, Dow City, and Alicia Mahoney, Council Bluffs. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Friday, Aug. 4), at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Blair. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Blair. Tedford, 73, Pisgah, died Aug. 1 at Burgess Health Center, Onawa. Robert Myron Tedford was born Dec. 1,1932 in Versailles, Mo. to Charles and Mary (Smith) Tedford. Robert moved to the Missouri Valley area in 1947 with his family. In 1950 the family moved to Modale. Robert married Rose Armstrong on March 18,1957 in Blair. Nebraska. The couple made their home in the Mondamin and Woodbine areas until 1968 when they moved to Pisgah. Robert enjoyed farming and worked several years for the Farmers Co-op In Pisgah. Robert was a school bus driver for West Harrison Community Schools for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruth Chesmore. Survivors include: his wife Rose; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Rod Holben; and a son and his wife, Bob and Kelly Tedford, all of Pisgah; five grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband, Bill, Hansen, Mondamin; Justin Tedford and Tyler Tedford, both of Dunlap; and Neal Hussing and Nathan Hussing, both of Pisgah; four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Brenden, Kaliegh, and Hunter Hansen, all of Mondamin; three sisters, Margaret and her husband, Glen Ferrin, Brazito, Mo., Shirley Shannon, Lewis; and Dorothy and her husband, Lee Gabel, Akron; one brother, Donald (Buck) and his wife, Ingrid Tedford, of San Antonio, Tex. Gerald was born July 18, 1927, to Calvin and Mabel (Pflug) Leaders, Minden. He was raised on a farm near Minden, and attended school in Bentley. June 8, 1949, Gerald married Ardythe Mae Olsen, Treynor. Gerald farmed near his childhood home until moving to Council Bluffs in 1960, where he was co-owner of an International Harvester Store. In 1963, Gerald and his brother Calvin moved their families to Dunlap where they opened Leaders Equipment. In 1982, Gerald and his son Glen started Leaders Tractor and Combine Salvage, where he worked until the time of his retirement in 2004. Gerald served in the U.S. Army, was a Veteran of World War II and had been a member of the American Legion Post No. 224 for over 50 years. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was ordained into the priesthood in 1967. Gerald served as the pastor of the RLDS church in Dunlap for many years. Since 1985, Gerald worshipped at the Followers of Christ, a Restoration Branch in Woodbine. Gerald attended Dana College for a time, was also a member of the Kiwanis Club, Webelos Council of the Boy Scouts of America, served for several years on the Dunlap City Council and he and his wife were both Charter Members of the Antique Doorknob Collectors of America. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon and Lloyd; and sister, Ilene Applegate. Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Ardythe Leaders; his children, Linda and her husband, Randy, Frazier, Dunlap; Jane and her husband, Royl Roden, Pisgah; Glen and his wife, Jackie L! eaders, Woodbine; and Gene Leaders, Dunlap. Also surviving Gerald are four brothers and two sisters, Calvin and his wife, Dorothy Leaders, Dunlap; Wayne and his wife, Wanda Leaders, Council Bluffs; Ken Leaders and Lowell and his wife, Phyllis Leaders, all of Minden; Gladys White, Oakland; Lou Ellen (Tootie) and her husband, Gene Graalfs, Council Bluffs; and sister-in-law, Edna Leaders, Woodbine; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Services were held Sunday, Aug. 6 at the Community of Christ Church, Woodbine, Elders Royl Roden and Dan Mefferd, officiants. A Tribute was presented by Evangelists Darrell Argotsinger and John Lizer. Prelude Special Music was provided by Elise Tiffey. Musicians were: The Sherer Family. McIntosh, age 78, of Missouri Valley, Iowa died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. William was born Sept. 28, 1927, in St. Charles, S.D. to William Ray and Bertha Viola (Powell) McIntosh. He graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1946. After William served in the Korean War where he was wounded in 1951 and received the Purple Heart, he attended Radio Engineering Electronic School in Omaha, Nebraska. He belonged to the V.F.W. Post 737 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He married Hazel Campbell on April 8, 1955, in Crescent, Iowa, and to this union one daughter, Gayle Sue, was born. William enjoyed yard work, Nascar racing and visiting with his family. William was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Hazel, of Missouri Valley; daughter, Gayle Sue Hayes and husband Larry of Council Bluffs; granddaughters, Rebecca Marie Harvey, Leslie Ann Harvey and Amanda Jean Harvey, all of San Diego, Calif.; brother, Bernard McIntosh of Neola, Iowa; sister, Lois Morrison of Honey Creek, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, August 29, from 7 until 8 p.m. at the Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Funeral Home. Final resting place in Branson Cemetery in Loveland, Iowa.
