F. Henderson. E. F. Henderson, whose serious illness was noted in yesterdays Times, died this morning at 3 o'clock of convulsions. Last fall Mr.Henderson suffered a stroke of apoplexy, from which he never fully recovered. Yesterday he was taken seriously sick and despite all that could be done for him, he died of convulsions, deceased was 43 years old and has been a resident here for the past sixteen years. When he first came here he waws a railroad man, but a few years later he bought a fruit and garden farm a mile north of the city where he has since resisded. He was married here fifteen years ago last Saturday, and leaves a wife and young daughter about twelve years of age. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Christian church, conducted by Rev. Higbee. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Additional notes: Edmond was married to Ida F Jewell on Feb. 23, 1889 in Harrison Cnty, IA, they had a son Harry H. June 30, 1899 - Dec. 1, 1900. They are all burtied in Rose Hill cemetery, Missouri Valley, Iowa. I have not been able to find who Endmond's parents are. He was living in Liberty, Clarke cnty, Iowa with the Charles Keffer family in 1870. Parents? Am rsching the Henderson family from Harrison county, and I do not know if Edmond is part of the Henderson family. My immediate family is James White and Elizabeth Mary Peters Henderson. It was also her wish to be cremated, so there will not be any kind of viewing. Vore was born in Athens county, Ohio, Dec. 26,1835 and died at his late residence in this city Dec. 12, 1900. After spending his childhood in Ohio, he came to Iowa in 1865. He lived on a farm in Harris Grove until about six years ago when he moved to Logan. He was well liked. He was industrious and at al times a man who attended to his own business. He was the son of Pierson and Cynthia Vore. Cancer of the stomach was the trouble. Funeral from late residence in Logan tomorrow at 2 p.m. Interment in the Logan cemetery in charge of the Masonic fraternity of which order he was a member, belonging in Logan. Vore died in Council Bluffs. Elvira A. Baughn was born near Cincinnati, Ohio, July 8, 1844. She came to this county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Baughn, in 1856, and most of her life was spent here. She was married April 19, 1861, to William F. Vore, who came to this county and settled in Harris Grove in 1855. She was the mother of ten children, only two of whom, Mrs. Fannie Beck of Logan and Mrs. Maude Walgren of Yankton, South Dakota, survive. For many years the Vore family lived on a farm in Harris Grove, where she took her full share in the building of the home and the community. She was a kind and helphful neighbor in those days when neighborliness meant so much and without which communities could not have survived. Mr. and Mrs. Vore moved to Logan about 30 years ago, where Mr. Vore died December 12, 1900. Fo! r the past few years, Mrs. Vore has made her home with her granddaughter, Mrs. W. A. Shields, in Council Bluffs. Mrs. Vore leaves as survivng relatives, besides her daughters, two sisters, Mrs. George Gibbs of San Diego, California, and Mrs. Warren Letson of Ocean Park, California, three grandchildren, Mrs. W. A. Shields and Dr. W. E. Bowen of Council Bluffs, and W. E. Walgren ofYankton, South Dakota, and three great grandchildren, Billie Shields and Donald and Robert Bowen of Council Bluffs. Mrs. Vore has been a member of Logan Chapter, 195, O. E. S., almost since its organization. The funeral service was held at the Yeaman Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon, February 14, at 2 o'clock conducted by W. N. Graves. The interment was in the family lot in Logan cemetery.

Her body was taken to the Douglas County Coroner's Office for an autopsy. The Sheriff's office is not releasing the woman's name or cause of death as it continues to investigate. Missouri Valley Police and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are both involved in the case. The woman's name and other details were not being released as of early this morning. According to the officer, the body was found about 3 a.m. in a house that has been converted into apartments located near downtown. The Harrison County Sheriff's Office and Division of Criminal Investigations are assisting in the investigation. Avis was a member of the Community of Christ in Dow City. Avis loved to travel and bowl. She also enjoyed antiques and learning about the stories the antiques held. Avis died on Saturday, September 23, 2006, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunlap, Iowa at the age of 82 years and six days. Avis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; daughter, Linda Fouts; grandson Troy Anthony Fouts; three brothers, Jack, Bud and Bob Baber; and two sisters, Nell Jean Brasel and June Florence Bohacek. And Effie Bessie (Rose) Terrell, was born on March 27, 1923, in Dunlap, Iowa. She attended Dunlap schools through the eleventh grade. On January 3, 1940, Jane married Leonard Keith Dinesen in Onawa, Iowa. The couple farmed northeast of Harlan, Iowa, where they also raised livestock. Jane worked as a waitress at the Harlan Bowling Alley and later as a dishwasher and cook for eight years at Westridge School in Harlan. On November 20, 1985, Jane experienced a stroke, which caused her to make her home at the Elm Crest Retirement Community in Harlan. Jane was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harlan, Iowa, where she was active in the Methodist Church Women’s Circle. She was also a charter member of the Shelby County Historical Society, and a member of the Zenobia Rebekah Lodge #286 and the Merry Homemaker’s Club. Jane was a former 4-H leader, as well. An avid bowler, she enjoyed crocheting, fixing family meals, and traveling with her husband to Florida and New Hampshire to attend car and motorcycle races. Jane also liked going to Las Vegas, Nevada, in January each year. Jane Dinesen died on Sunday, September 24, 2006, at the Elm Crest Retirement Community in Harlan, Iowa, at the age of 83 years, 5 months, and 28 days. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard, on March 19, 1985; four sisters, Aletha Cornelious, Julia Albrecht, Eleonor Terwilliger, and Voy Terrell; and one brother, Elmer Terrell. She is survived by two sons, Melvin (Janis) Dinesen of Harlan, Iowa, and Donald (Chris) Dinesen of Bakersfield, California; two daughters, Peggy Hess and Susan (Jerry) Lambert, both of Harlan, Iowa; one sister, Scenna Gordon of Dow City, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, with Rev. Dave Swinton of the First United Methodist Church in Harlan officiating. Ruth Dinesen served as the organist. Casket bearers were Jamie Hess, Nancy Boos, Brian Lambert, Jason Dinesen, Amy Heflin, and Robert Heflin. Burial was in the Harlan Cemetery in Harlan, Iowa. Bob was born September 3, 1924, in Dunlap, Iowa, to Joseph and Delores (Egan) Assmann. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Dunlap and graduated in 1942. Bob married Mary Jane O'Connell on February 19, 1946. The couple farmed east of Dunlap. In 1987 their house burned down so the couple moved into Dunlap. Mary died on June 19, 1988. Bob worked for many years at Cogdill Farm Supply. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Bob had a good strong faith in God. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards and dice games. He also enjoyed reading and being around family and friends. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jane; grandson, Christopher Assmann; brother, Art Assmann and sister, Gen Schwery. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap Saturday morning, September 16, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Paul Strittmatter officiating. Organist was Fran Klein and vocalist was Jerry Baldwin. A special selection was "On Eagle's Wings." Final resting place is Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Nauroth, Jim Schaben, Sr., Bart Rule, Edgar Rannells, Ed Heffernan, Jerry Klein. Pallbearers were Shane Assmann, Dick Hanigan, ! Della’s family lived Montana and North Dakota where Della graduated from high school. Della’s parents moved to a farm between Logan and Woodbine in 1936 and Della soon followed. She met R. Lynn Ganzhorn and the couple was married on December 23, 1937. The couple farmed west of Woodbine for many years and then moved to Valentine, Nebraska. They returned to Woodbine and lived for over 50 years. The couple eventually started Ganzhorn Trucking Company. Della was the bookkeeper, secretary, and helped with whatever was necessary to keep the business going. Lynn died on July 4, 1987. Della loved to bowl and she traveled to many states for tournaments. She also loved to dance, garden, and visit with her many friends. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Woodbine and a member in the church’s morning circle. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, El Den club and the Friendship Club. Della died on Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at Douglas County Health Center attaining the age of 92 years, seven months, and 19 days. Della was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lynn; sister and brother-in-law, Ione and Clarence Green; brother, Leland “Bud” Michel; and nephew, Kurt Green. She is survived by her sister Lois and her husband Vern Wycoff of Omaha, Nebraska; three sisters-in-law, Beulah Michel of Woodbine, Iowa, Mildred Trunvold of Watertown, South Dakota, and Oma Ganzhorn of Tucson, Arizona; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends. To them eight children were born, Carrie,Laura, George, Bessie, Laverne, Jesse, Maud and Irene. Mrs Beedle was a member of the L.D.S. church. She may rightly be classed as a pioneer of Shelby and Harrison Counties, having lived in the two counties for 79 years. Burial in Whitesboro Cemetary.

John Eilers, Rev. Ron Keith and Rev. Shurmaine McAlpine served as clergy. Recorded music included "Rocky Mountain High," "Sunshine on my Shoulders," "Green Grass of Home," "The Rose" and "Dance with my Father Again." Honorary Pall Bearers Tito Romero, Bill Lewis, Mike Turner, Bill Fitzwater, Russell Kidd, Ozzie Osborne, Donald Laughlin and Dale "Junior" Laughlin. Military Rites were performed by the U.S. Marine Color Guard and Gordon May Post #439 of Silver City, Iowa. Stanley DeLoss Brammer, 75 of Woodbine, Iowa died Thursday, September 7, 2006, at his home in Woodbine. Stanley was born January 30, 1931, to Elmer and Beulah (Collier) Brammer near Malvern, Iowa. Stanley loved all animals. He and his special pony, Nicki, won many races at the Mills County Fair. Stanley also had three special dogs. Stanley joined the Marines in 1950. He was on the aircraft carrier the Essex during the Korean War. Stanley married Mary Lou Laughlin in Yuma, Arizona in 1952. Shortly after their wedding, Stanley went overseas again. When he returned stateside the couple lived in Quantico, Virginia where Stanley was a rifle instructor until his discharge in 1955. The couple moved many times through out their marriage, and Stanley worked at many jobs involving carpentry and salesmanship. The couple moved to Woodbine, Iowa in 1996. Stanley was involved with the Hastings, Iowa Saddle Club. He enjoyed taking his children to many Little Britches Rodeos. He was also a scout master in Carson, Iowa. Stanley was commander in the American Legion and most recently a member of the Weiss Post No. 143 in Woodbine. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Marcia Brammer, Shirley Durham, Leona Shrake and Dewayne Brammer. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Brammer of Woodbine, IA; five children, Ricky Brammer of Sterling, CO, Kenny (Mary) Brammer of Briggsdale, CO, Jeffery Brammer of Oakland, IA, Becky (John) Eilers of Missouri Valley, IA, Debby (Dan) Kline of Woodbine, IA; one grandson that they raised, Nick (LaCosta) Brammer of Woodbine, IA; 17 grandchildren; 6 great grand-children; 1 step grandson; six siblings, Betty Neighbors of Milton Freewater, OR, Charlotte (Howard) McClain of Pueblo, CO, Beverly (Gary) Goodemote of Stanton, IA, Bonnie Christensen of Carson, IA, Sandra (Gordon) Viner of Omaha, NE, Cheryl Eaton of Red Oak, IA; his dog, Brownie; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Missouri Valley. Remembrances were by Stuart McDunn, Bill Stevens, and J.R. Springston. Taped selections were, "Daddy Take My Hand," and "Grandpa Tell Me About the Good Old Days." Honorary bearers were Bill Stevens, J. R. Springston, Stuart McDunn, and Joyce Johnston. The body was cremated. Military honors were conducted by the Mondamin American Legion Post 378. Dennis was born June 15, 1946 in Council Bluffs to Charles and Rosina (Knadle) Birdsall. He attended school in Mondamin, and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Dennis resided in the Mondamin area all his life, and was employed with Vulcan Industries in Missouri Valley for 20 years, retiring in 2006. He was married to Mary Johnston, March 17, 1990. He was a member of the Eagles Club and had served as president. Survivors include his wife Mary Birdsall of Mondamin; daughter Katy of Missouri Valley; son David of Cherry Point, N.C.; grandson Kaleb of Missouri Valley; mother Rosina Dick of Mondamin; sister Denise Lindgren of Mondamin; brothers Bryce Birdsall and wife Deb of Coon Rapids, Minn.; Brian Birdsall and wife Carol of Mondamin; favorite mother-in-law Joyce Johnston of Modale; special uncles Jim Birdsall, Modale; Doyle Knadle, Mondamin; nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his father Charles. The Hennessy-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
