She was a lifelong devoted member of the Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church, where she taught Sunday school, served as leader of the church youth group and women's department, and attended many church reunion camps. Nadean always took her church responsibilities seriously, and carefully prepared her lesson plans. She played the piano and enjoyed inspirational music, especially church hymns. Nadean studied the scriptures and had a strong faith in God that sustained her throughout her life. She was active as a leader of her sons' 4-H Club where she encouraged members to prepare and practice their presentations for 4-H events which resulted in many ribbons! . She was a good neighbor who enjoyed cooking meals with other farm wives for the neighbor men when they worked together. In her later years, Nadean took business courses and worked at J. C. Penny's in Denison, visiting her sons and grandchildren in Kansas City. Nadean enjoyed family gatherings, and took special interest in her nephews and nieces. In the last few years, due to declining health, she lived at the care center but always enjoyed visits of relatives and friends. Nadean was preceded in death by infant daughter Karla, and sister Pauline Wilkens. Survivors include two sons, Leon and his wife Kris (Jochims) of Liberty, Mo., Tom and his wife Kathy (Zic) of Kansas City, Mo., brother Wayne Jones and his wife Regina of Logan; two sisters Wanda Weber of Dow City, Pat and her husband Bill Vanderford of Lincoln, Neb.; brother-in-law Mildred Wilkens of Dunlap; grandchildren Laura, Leah, Sara, and Roberto Mateo; nephews, nieces, and many other relatives and friends. Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap was in charge of the arrangements.

He was born on March 28, 1927, to Henry Martin Jahde, Sr., and Anna Marie Groneberg, Henry Sr.'s second wife. My father told me that his father had been married before, but this is the first time I have ever encountered her name, Linda (Hollander) Jahde. (Linda was an unusual, and more modern, name for that time!) I'm not sure that my father knew Hattie, Clarence, and Sylvia's mother's name. Anything that you can tell me about the Jahde clan would be helpful. I am just beginning my search -- my father (Henry, Jr.) died on April 21st of this year (2006). I miss him terribly and want to learn more about his family who all hailed from the Denison, Iowa, area. I remember meeting his mother's (Anna Groneberg's) sister, Bertha, somewhere in that area when I was very young (1960's). While I know that the Gronebergs are not of interest to you, I would appreciate any information about the Jah! de's. Thank you so much.
