I've accumulated these notes, associated with Thomas: According to his obit, he built the Opera House but it didn't say if it was in Sidney or elsewhere. ------- Thomas had 18 children between his two wives, several having died in infancy. Only one remained in Fremont County, Mont M. Thornton, who died 27 Mar 1953, in Sidney. Thomas had two brothers, Benjamin Franklin and Tiberius, and one sister, Sophia M. There may also be another sister, as the 1850 Census showed a Sarah A. Holly, and her two year old son, William, on the Census with them ... she was listed as 20 years old. Benjamin died in 1854, and is buried in Sidney Cemetery as "Franklin". Their parents, T. P. (Thomas P.) Thornton and Frances Hambrick, both died in 1856, and are buried with Benjamin. ----- The family had moved to Council Bluffs, when Thomas died. He is buried in Grandview Cemetery, with his first wife, and their infant son, Jilson H. Thornton. Charlotte is buried, as her obituary says, in Sidney Cemetery, not far from Thomas' parents and brother. Of the 18 children of Thomas D., only one remained in Fremont County, Mont M. Thornton, who died 27 Mar 1953, in Sidney.
