Orton in Mills county; four miles northwest of Tabor; Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. GARRETT were born in England, came to the U..S. in 1853 settling first in Utah near Salt Lake City; in 1867 returned to Mills county; farmed in Missouri river bottom northeast of Percival near what was then callled Egypt. In the early seventies they moved near the site of their later home; eleven children, six of whom with father survive; Mrs. L.J. "A", 4th Iowa Cavalry; was buried in Parsley Cemetery.--Item dated Sept. 7, 1899. Frances A. GOODIN died July 7, 1936. George GOODIN, born Aug. 3, 1898 - died Jan. 8, 1925. John GOODLAW, a colored man, was found dead Monday in an old house about a mile south of Hamburg. The deceased has been a resident of Hamburg for about thirty years and was a hard worker.--Apr. 22, 1904. Lavina S. GOODWIN.--The first bural in TAbor of a cremated body took place Tuesday. The ashes were those of Mrs. Lavina S. Goodwin, an aunt of Mr. H. T. Woods, who died in Boston on May 31 of this year, aged 88 years. The body was cremated in Boston and shipped to TAbor for burial, the ashes being encased in a hermetically sealed half galloon copper jar.--Nov. 26, 1911. Andrew GORDON, born Columbus, Henry county, Ohio on May 24, 1841 -died Jan. 17, 1913; parents settled west of the MIssissippi in 1843..."Accordingly they located at Austin, north of Hamburg, and the remaining sixty nine years of his life were spent in what is now Fremont county".
