Sams and 4 children. Danny SCHNEPP was fatally injured in a car wreck on Aug. 14, 1958. Judge John Clark SCOTT died Apr. 25, 1895 and was buried at Hamburg. The funeral for Mrs. SEATERS has been held; her daughter Mrs. Hanning lives at Cambridge, Nebr. and her son Lon McClintock at Julesburg, Colorado.--FEb. 27, 1896. George SHIPLEY, 87 years, died May 8, 1984; bur. Thurman. Bert SIMMERMAN of Madison township died Sat. morning.--Apr. 9. 1896. Grandma SIMMONS, aged over 70 years, died last Friday; funeral was at Franklin Grove; she was the mother of A. Simmons who lives east of Imogene.--Oct. 11, 1900. Mrs. SMITH who lived in the southeast part of Riverton, died Friday night; her son Thomas Smith lives in Axtell, Kansas; also leaves two daughters.--Aug. 10, 1899. Ralph Floyd SMITH, born Apr. 20, 1915 at Grand River, Iowa - died Oct. 13, 1984 aged 69 years; married Ruby Adkins on Feb. 20, 1964. Son of Noah and Effie (Croy) Smith. Bur. Utterback. Stella Lehaman of Des Moines is his sister. William Nelson SMITH, former Riverton merchant, died at Hamburg on Apr. 29, 1895; leaves wife, five sons and two daughter including Mrs. George Danforth; also leaves a brother John W. Smith of Rock Port, Missouri. Mrs. William (Nellie) SMITH died Dec. 11, 1903 at Bancroft, Kansas; born in Fremont county and was married in 1886; leaves 2 daughter, a father, brothers and sisters. Burial Hamburg. Mrs. Matilda SNODGRASS, b. Jan. 24, 1835 in Bartholomew county, Indiana - died May 3, 1896; married Nathan Snodgrass in 1856; came to Fremont county in 1869; leaves husband, two daughter and two sons, and one step son. Norvin SPENCER was buried at Farragut on Apr. 4, 1992; he was a cousin of Paul McMullen. Mrs. Norvin SPENCER of Quenemo, Kansas, died Jan. 26, 1986. Clyde J. SPIDELL, born at Tabor 72 years ago - died May 11, 1985; bur. Crescent Cemetery; his sister is Jean Piper of Redding, California. Elizabeth L. STADTMILLER, 80, died Mar. 22, 1985; bur. at Thurman. Benjamin Ralph STANLEY married Juanita Gibson: (1).--Their son James Leroy, born Sept. 16, 1925 - died Jan. 14, 1986 at Landers, Wyoming; married Barbara J. Hunt at Hamburg on June 8, 1947; World War II; bur. at Landers; (2) Their son Robert Stanley lives at Dubois; (3) and (4): a son and a daughter are also deceased. Elisha STARNES married Rosa Smith; Their daughter Clara, born Beatrice, Nebraska on Nov. 27, 1904 - died Feb. 24, 1983; married George Bunn, who is deceased; buried at Grange Hall Cemetery. Three brothers and three sisters predeceased her; leaves sister Mrs. Georgia King of Beatrice, Mrs. Eva Owens of Englewood, CO, and Mrs. Marie Lilibridge of Englewood, CO. James W. STEPHENS died Apr. 10, 1987 aged 71 at Clarinda; leaves wife Faye, and sons (1) James W., Jr. of Hamburg, (2) John D. of Boulder, Colorado, and (3) Jerald K. of Marshalltown, IOwa; also leaves daughters Judith Woldruff of Des Moines and Julie Wille of Overland Park, Kansas. A brother John Howard Stephens lives in Boulder, and his sister Mary Brooke of Colorado. Burial in Clarinda. Margaret STEPHENS md. Frank McCrory of Hamburg: Her sister Mrs. Mary Thompson of Hamburg, died Feb. 15, 1921 aged 80 years 2m 11days; her brother P.O. Stephens lives in California. Raymond "Wesley" STEVENS, born at Sidney - died Jan. 23, 1999; married Marjorie; lived in Ralston, Nebraska; his daughter preceded him in death. Mrs. STEVENSON died Nov. 20, 1904 at the home of Charles Rorebeck.--Farragut, Dec. 1, 1904. Ellis STRAIGHT died Tuesday morning at the home of his brother, Edward Straight, four miles east of town. His mother died only two weeks ago, and his aged father is in very poor health.--Imogene, Jan. 25, 1900. Grandpa STRAIGHT, 86 years old, died 2/15/1900 at his son's Edward; his wife died a month ago, and a son but a few weeks ago. Mrs. Nancy STRAIT died July 11, 1896; widow of Sherman Strait who died in July 1895; bur. Utterback; four children, two of whom are adults.--Riverton. Grandma STRAW died Saturday in Hamburg; her husband died last spring.--Oct. 31, 1901. Silas STRITE, an old soldier from the Civil War, aged 60 years, living about one mile east of W. M. Jarman's east of Sidney, died Wednesday. Burial Riverton today.--Apr. 21, 1904. Arnold STRONG, 71, died Dec. 13, 1983 at Council Bluffs; bur. at Hamburg; his brother William R. Strong lives in Council Bluffs; his brother Lowell Strong lives at Fort Collins, Colorado. Mr. STURGEON, former Sidney resident, moved to Seattle, Washington six or seven years ago, died Sat. His daughter is Mrs. Luther Plummer.--May. 26, 1904. Earl SULLIVAN died Feb. 12, 1983 aged 78 years; bur. Sidney. B. F. SUTTER lives north of Sidney: His son Bertrand died last Sunday, aged 28 years; bur. Mt. Zion.--9/6/1900. Col. G. V. SWEARINGEN died Nov. 4, 1899 aged 75y 2m 3d; born in Beaver county, PA; burial in New Cumberland, West Virginia. He came to Fremont county in 1857; he was postmast of Sidney for 14 years; he owned and edited the Union Times of Sidney for several years. Leaves a wife.
