"Farragut News".--A sad and fatal accident happened in Shenandoah last Saturday forenooon. S. W. Wilson, of Locust Grove township, accompanied by his brother-in-law, C. H. Wall of Anderson, drove a four horse load of shelled corn into the mill yard at Van Buskirk's Mill in Shenandoah and started to drive onto the dump for the purpose of unloading. The team became unmanageable and started to turn around. The driver, S. W. Wilson, jumped off on one side while Mr. Wall jumped off on the other. When Mr. Wilson reached the ground it is supposed he fell and the horse turning the wagon too shortly caused one wheel to break and the heavily loaded wagon came down upon the unfortunate man's head crushing it like an egg shell. Death was instantaneous, and the victim never moved save to gasp a few times. S.W. Wilson lived upon the Lynn farm about nine miles south of town and leaves a wife and four children. H. C. Wall who was on the wagon at the time of the accident, but jumped to the ground, fractured his arm in doing so. Mr. Wilson came to Fremont county about fourteen years ago and settled on a farm northeast of Sidney. From there he moved to the farm, where he has been living, seven years ago. Just last fall his father died at the age of 103 years in Illinois. Mr. Wilson was 38 years old, and being a renter, does not leave his family in good circumstances. He carries no insurance and is possessed of none save personal property. His eldest child, a daughter, 14 years old and youngest but a trifle over a year.
