October 8, 1908. "FALL HEIR TO REAL ESTATE".-- Tabor Iowa, Oct. 1st.--Several Tabor families have recently fallen heir to real estate interests in other states. The children of Mrs. Mary Starrett will soon receive their distributive shares of a valuable residence property centrally located in the city of Monmonth,Ill., that belongs to their father's sister, the late Mrs. Mary Hamilton, who died intestate. The surviving heirs and next of kin are the children of George Starrett of Brooklyn, N.Y., those of Daniel Starrett of Lenora, Kan., and Mrs. Mary Starrett's five children--Geroge Starrett of Omaha, Mrs. Edith Starrett Hunter, Will, Harry and Fred Starrett, all of Tabor. The Hamilton estate is being settled in the present term of the probate court at Monmouth and a decree for the sale of property and distribution of proceeds will soon issue. The Hopkins heirs may receive their share of valuable city realty in Wheeling, W. Va. At an early day, a Richard Simms, an uncle of the late Richard Simms Hopkins, of Tabor, donated a tract of land at Wheeling to be used as a cemetery, but as the city grew it was changed into a public park, contrary to the design of the donor. Suit has been instituted and if finally successful, as there is good reason to believe it will be, the land in the heart of the city will revert to the heirs. The Tabor heirs are Mrs.Hopkins, widow of R. S. Hopkins, and her two daughters, Mrs. J. C. Stevenson and Miss Bessie Hopkins.
