December 13, 1945. "DIES IN HOSPITAL FOLLOWING CRASH".-- Thomas E. James, prominent Sidney resident, passed away at the Hamburg hospital just after midnight last Thursday morning as the result of injuries sustained when his car, which he was driving, crashed into the south concrete steps of the courthouse yard at Sidney. No reason for the accident could be given, as parties who had been following him as he drove up South street said he appeared to be driving normally and to have his car under control. The accident occurred about 5:30 Wednesday evening, and he was rushed to the hospital immediately, and apparently had recovered from the extreme shock of the accident when he passed away.
