N.B.: Giles Henderson was the son of Andrew Jackson Henderson and his wife Margaret (Ashworth) Henderson.....Minerva Rose Kimsey was the daughter of Patrick K. Kimsey and his wife Margaret McCluskey.--W.F. 3. THE FREMONT COUNTY SUN. Feb . 25, 1897. "Ellis.--Died, Feb. 21, 1897, Mrs. Margaret Ellis, aged 73 years." Mrs. (sic) Margaret Ashworth was born in Kentucky Feb. 21, 1824. When about 15 years of age she moved with her parents to Platte county, Missouri. She was married to A. J. Henderson at the age of 18 and to this union was born seven sons and seven daughters, seven of whom now live to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother. One son living in the northern part of the state and a daughter living in Kansas could not be present at the burial. Mrs. Henderson was converted forty years ago, while living in Holt county, Missouri, and united with the Baptist church. They moved to this county in 1864 and she united with the Baptist church of Sidney. In 1869 she took a letter from the Sidney church and united with the church at Pleasant Grove. Mr. Henderson died in 1869 and she afterwards married John Ellis who died about six years ago. The long years of Mrs. Ellis' faithful and consistant christian life is worthy emulation by all. "Blessed are those who die in the Lord, they shall rest from their labors and their works do follow them" . She was laid to rest in the Sidney cemetery on Feb. 23, 1897. 4. THE FREMONT COUNTY SUN. March 8, 1906. "P.K. KIMSEY".-- Another old Fremont county pioneer, P. K. Kimsey, died at the home of his son, A. E. Kimsey in Shenandoah on Thursday, March 1, 1906. Father Kimsey was born in Crittenden county, Kentucky, Sept. 25, 1825. He grew up there and was united in marriage with Margaret McCluskey, Dec. 1, 1847. Ten children were born to them, seven of whom, two sons and five daughters are yet living, viz: A.E. Kimsey of Shenandoah; Giles Kimsey of Oto, Iowa; Mrs. Lewis Hills, Mrs.Henry Ballinger and Mrs. W. J. Greenlee of Sidney, Iowa; Mrs. G. W. Henderson of Colridge, Neb.; Mrs.J. Lake of Battle Creek, Iowa. They were all in attendance at the funeral except Mrs. Henderson. Mr. Kimsey settled in Fremont county in 1852 and has lived ever since in the vicinity of Sidney with the exception of the last year or two when he has made his home with different members of his family. At the age of 22 he was converted and united with the Baptist church in which throughout the remainder of his life he was an honored member, and held various church offices. At the time of his death he was a member of the organization at Percival. For ten years he has been a patient sufferer but was faithful throughout. He was ususually well versed in the bible. He especially enjoyed his study during the last six months of his life. His end was bright with hope. He leaves behind him the record of a long and useful life and many old friends to mourn his death. Short services were held at the house of his son in Shenandoah by Rev. C. S. Hanley on Thursday evening, and on Friday the remains were brought to Sidney where the regular funeral services were held at the Baptist church conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. F. Moore. The remains were interred in the McKissick cemetery beside his wife who died fifteen years ago. N.B.: The McKissick Cemetery is now known as the Acord Cemetery, and is located in the eastern part of Lacy Grove.....Is is strange (?) that most of the Acord records call it "McKissick's Cemetery".....William K. McKissick had married an Acord, and had owned the land on which it was laid out. This McKissick led a wagon train to Salt Lake City where his family -- and one of the Acords -- became prominent in the Mormon Church.--W.F.
