Feb. 7., 1858 in Scott county, Illinois - d. Apr. 28, 1917; married MARY OLIVIA LANDRETH, b. March 1862 in Morgan county, Illinois - d. after 1920; married in 1880....Buried at Lacy Grove; his obituary is posted here on Rootsweb.......Mary Olivia was the daughter of Jonathan and Martha Ann (Yowell), which makes the following children cousins to the founders of the Earl May Seed and Nursery Company. (Mrs. Earl May made frequent visits to Sidney). In the l910 census for Sidney township, Mary Olivia said that she had been married for 30, was the mother of 11 children, nine of whom were yet living.......Lived 4 miles northwest of Sidney......They came to Fremont county in 1889.......His father was a Baptist minister......His obituary says he was a baker in Sidney, but he is always found living in Sidney township, in the 1895, 1900, 1910, and 1915 census reports.. Children as far as known: 1.-- Jesse L. b. July 1881 in Illinois - d. April 4, 1922 (He was killed in the railroad yards in Cheyenne, Wyoming, while acting as as nightwatchman.); married Merle Bobbitt, b. July 29, 1883 - d. May 11, 1922.....In 1917 was living in Sidney, Nebraska. 2.--Felix LeRoy "Roy", b. June 1883 3.--Elsie, b. ca. 1884 - died 1895 - 1900. 4. Myrtle, b. March 1886 - d. 1959. Unmarried. She was a school teacher. (In 1910, she was teaching in Riverside township.) 5.-- John Ora, b. March 1888 - d. 1965; married Edna M. Miller, b. 1893 in Minnisota - d. 1969; married on Sept. 1, 1912 in Sidney. Buried at Sidney. Daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Lockett) Miller......In 1918 was living in Sidney......On Sept. 18, 1941, a son Herbert and his wife were living in Oskaloosa, Iowa. 6.-- Frederick, b. Feb. 1890....In 1917 was living in White Sulphur Springs, Montana.....In 1920 was of Tabor. 7.-- Joseph Albert, b. Apr. 1892; married Roxanna Prescott, b. ca. 1893; married on Feb. 19, 1913 in Thurman. Daughter of Thomas and Mary J. (Alkire) Prescott. 8. Son, who died Jan. 28, 1900 aged circa 4 years. 9.-- Leonard Roy "Lee", b. May 12, 1900; his wife's name was Zelpha. 10.-- Donald Elbert, b.May 12, 1900; he was married on July 16, 1921 in Mills county, Iowa. 11.-- Eva O., b.ca. 1902. 12.--Martha Alice, b. ca. 1905.
