"OBITUARY OF LESTER GRANVILLE REEVES".-- The remains of Lester Granville Reeves, early resident of Sidney, were brought to Sidney for burial, services being held at the Crawford Funeral Home Monday afternoon, the officiating minister being Reynold Q. Ludy, pastor of the Sidney Presbyterian church. Singers were Mrs. J. R. Ettleman and Mrs. Vernon Johnson. Lester Granville Reeves, son of Granville and Ella C. Reeves, was born at Sidney June 15, 1875. At the age of two years he moved with his parents to Norton, Kas., and lived there for 20 years. He graduated from the pharmacy school of Kansas City and from a veterinary school at St. Joseph, Mo. He worked as a druggist in Kansas City for four years, then practiced as a veterinary eight years at Spaulding, Nebr. He moved to Mulvane and then to Udall, Kas., where he managed drug stores for several years, and then moved to Spaulding, Nebr. He passed away at a hospital at Grand Island, Nebr., March 1, 1940, after an illness of three days at the age of 64 years 8 months and 15 days. Her is survived by one brother, Roy C. Reeves, of Spaulding, Nebr.; one uncle, Water S. Smith, of Sidney; and one aunt, Mrs. Mattie Christy, of Lamar, Colo. Interment was in the Sidney cemetery. Casket bearers were C. I. Thompson, John Reed, Carl Frederickson, Floyd Maffitt, John Carter and Carl Coffman. Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral services were Mrs. Lera Cole, Mrs. Ray Drake and Mrs. Verne Hamilton, of Almena, Kas.; and Mr. and Mrs.Raymond Smith of Circleville, Kas.
