J. Reeves and George Reeves spent one day in Nebraska City last week.--SUN of February 13, 1896. N.B.: This George Reeves had been born about 1859 in Fremont county; in 1895 Anna Chrisman, 73, born in Ohio, was living with him.--W.F. .....c.-- G. B. Reeves of Anderson visited relatives in Lacy Grave Sunday.-- SUN of March 26, 1896. 2.-- The obituary of Barzilla Reeves is posted here, on this site. 3.-- His family as far as known: BARZILLA REEVES, b. Apr. 5, 1841 at Cairo, Ohio - d. Oct. 7, 1907; married RHODA POWERS, b. ca. 1848 in Illinois - d. April 20, 1884 in Fremont county, Iowa; married on Sept. 5, 1865 in Fremont county. Buried at Lacy Grove.......In 1885, he was farming on the north half of the southwest quarter, and, on the northwest quarter of the southeast quarter of section 16 township 69 range 42. This would put his home on the main road running between Sidney and Thurman, where it crossed the headwaters of Horse Creek, and about a half mile south of the Lacy Grove School house. Children: 1. Andrew J. b. ca. 1866 2. Isaac, b. ca. 1868 3. David M., b. ca 1870. 4. Garrison B., b. ca. 1871; married Mary C. Racobs, b. ca. 1879 in Nebraska; married on Dec. 23, 1896 at the German Reformed Church at Cherry Grove. She was the daughter of William and Mary (Asply) Racobs........A daughter, Marjorie Alice (Reeves) Swick, in 1959 was living at Gordon, Nebraska. She had been married on March 6, 1924 in Sheridan county, Nebraska. 5. H. Benton, b. ca. 1872 6. Hester Anna, b. ca. 1874 7. Barzilla, b. Feb. 1876 8. Virginia B., b. Nov. 1877 9. Thomas J., b. Feb. 1879 4.-- I have information from Dave Chandler which says William Washington and Anny (Saxton) Reeves were the parents of Barzella Reeves, who had been born before the parents moved to Fremont county, Iowa in 1852.
