"The Neighborly Spirit".-- It was almost year ago that Clarence Allen lost a foot while operating a power wood saw. After weeks of suffering he was able to leave his bed and has since been going about on crutches. Recently friends of the unfortunate man began quietly to pass a subscription paper pledging funds to buy him an artificial foot. The response was generous, and last Friday the foot arrived, since which time Clarence has been trying it out. Mr. Allen requests us to thank all those who thus came to his aid in a time of need. It is hardly necessary. Those who gave did it because the one who was to receive the benefaction was in every way worthy--one who would have been glad to act likewise had the tables been reversed. It was only an exhibition of the neighborly spirit, a trait for which the Sidney community has ever been noted.
