November 26, 1819.-- A road is now laying out between The Council Bluffs and Chariton, by which a direct communication between the former place and Franklin, a distance of 500 miles, will be effected, and facilitate the transportation of articles necessary for the expedition during the winter, while the intercourse by river is closed. Persons at a distance wishing to correspond with any of the gentlemen composing the expedition for the Yellowstone, should direct their letters, etc., to Franklin where an express from The Council Bluffs will arrive once a month, for the purpose of receiving all letters, papers, etc., for the expedition.
