H. Culley is the brother of Mrs. J. D. Baylor, and of Mrs. Larkin Cardill of Nemaha county, Kansas who died last Tuesday. ( Larkin Cordill who has lived in Kansas since 1857, died March 8, 1904 in Alton, Kansas; he was a brother-in-law of J. H. Culley.--Undated note. W.F.) 5. "MRS J. H. CULLEY DIES".--Mrs. J. H. Culley, who has been sick for a year or more, died last Friday morning at her home northwest of town. Funeral services were conduct3ed from the home, Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, by Rev. Enoch Hill and interment was made in the Lacy Grove cemetery. Sarah Ballinger was born in Grant county, Indiana on May 12, 1842 and died May 26, 1905. In 1858 she came with her parents to Iowa and on Nov. 21, 1861 she was united in marriage to J. H. Culley. To this unionfive children were born, one daughter and four sons. The oldest son died June 22, 1891. Mrs. Culley was converted to the Lord in the spring of 1870 and has lived an exemplary life ever since. Just preceeding her death she called the children to her bedside and warned them to prepare for the future. The children, M. F. Culley, W. E. Culley, Lizzie Mitzner, J. C. Culley and her husband were all with her during her last hours. "OLD TIME CITIZEN GONE".--Through a regrettable oversight The Argus - Herald missed pub licationof an item which will be of deep interest to readers of the paper everywhere. It was the announcement of the death of J. H. Culley -- "Uncle Harve" -- as he was called by citizens of all ages during his long residence here. "Uncle Harve" pased away on January 9 at the home of Mrs. Lizzie Mitzner at Geraldine, Montana, a daughter, where he had made his home for the past few years. He was 92 years old. His son, whom this section knew as "Doc"--for many years a b ridge builder for this county, is also at Mrs. Mitzner's home almost helpless following a stroke of paralysis suffered late last fall.......(N.B.: A note dated 7/8/1910 says they were living at Lone Tree, Judith Basin, Montana.--W.F.) Burial was made in Montana. 7.--SIDNEY ARGUS - HERALD. April 12, 1928. " 'DOC' CULLEY DEAD".--J. C. Culley received word from Warm Springs, Montana, that his brother, M.F. Culley had died at that place Wednesday, April 4 after a long illness. Last fall he was the victim of an apoplectic stroke from which he never recovered, being practically helpless most of the time since that date. "Doc" Culley, as he was generally known here, was a county bridge builder for a great many years and up to some ten years ago had a wide acquaintance in the county. He never married. During his long illness he lived at the home of a sister.
