Gardner, living on the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter of section 20 township 69 range 42; he was 39 years, born in Illinois. Gardner, born July 14, 1811 in Louisa county, Virginia, arrived in Warren county on Nov. 3, 1834 and built a cabin in Kelly township and the following year moved to his present location........B. H. Gardner is the son of William and Catherine (Hollen) Gardner who were of English origins, having moved to Warren county, Kentucky in 1815.......Benjamin Gardner married (1) Jemima R. Wallace ( b. Apr. 27, 1816 in Warren co., KY -d. Feb. 4, 1861) on Jan. 1, 1835; she was the daughter of William and Nancy (Smith) Wallace. Nine children were born to this marriage: 1. Nancy C, married H. J. Adcock of Kelly township 2. William, who is deceased. 3. Mary A., married A. M. Johnston of Nodaway co., Missouri 4. ROBERT, WHO LIVES IN FREMONT COUNTY, IOWA. 5. Amanda, who is deceased. 6. George W. who lives in Cold Brook township. 7. Rebecca, who is deceased. 8. Benjamin, who has been dead for some years. 9. Benjamin E., who lives in Kelly township. Benjamin H. Gardner married (2) Mrs. Mary A. (Deatherage) Patton, on Aug. 23, 1864. By this second marriage, B. H. Gardner has one daughter, Myra, who married Emmet Barnett of Cold Brook township.
