Sidney, Iowa. October 8, 2009. "Donald Fulton, 87, buried at Thurman". -- Donald Ray Fulton was one of three children of Hattie Mae (Stoddard) Fulton and Oliver Perry Fulton. He was born on July 2, 1922 near Bartlett, IA. He graduated from Thurman High School in 1941 and later farmed in the McPaul, Thurman and Bartlett areas. He was married to Verla Gail Wilcox on March 27, 1953, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Omaha, NE. They had three sons, Randy Lee, Park Lawton and Max Allen. In 1958 they moved south of Carson, IA, where he farmed for 39 years and also did custom seed cleaning. He retired from farming in 1997. He and his family were members of the United Methodist Church in Carson. Recently, Don moved to Oakland Manor Care Center, following complications from heart surgery. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Howard, sister Pauline Sheldon and step-sisters Dorothy Frailery and Mildred Rank. Survivors include his wife Verla of Carson, sons Randy Fulton and wife Nancy of Wilber, NE, Park Fulton and wife Dawn of Fort Dodge,IA, and Max Fulton and wife Debbie of Oakland, IA.
