August 6, 2009. "Linkenhoker rites were August 3".-- Graveside services for Michael E. Linkenhoker, Sr., 40 of Missouri Valley, IA, formerly of Thurman and Sidney, IA, were held August 3, at the Thurman, IA, Cemetery with Pastor Bob Milliken officiating. Mr. Linkenhoker died July 28, 2009, at his home unexpectedly. The memory registry was cared for by Kim Linkenhoker and Stephanie Burke. The flower committee was Rose Linkenhoker and LeNae Linkenhoker. Recorded music included "Come Sail Away" by Styx and "When You Say Nothing At All" by Alison Krauss. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Linkenhoker, Rick Rivers, Brian Irvin, Josh Linkenhoker, Eldwin McCollum and Justin Cox. Pallbearers wer Michael Linkenhoker, Jr., Robert Linkenhoker, Joe Linkenhoker, Shawn Harris, Tyrone Warren, Jeff Lemrick, Matthew Linkenhoker, Greg Linkenhoker, Neil Harris, Scott Travis, Brian Forney, Bray Blake and Tim Cottone. Interment was at the Thurman, IA, Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are directed to the family. Crawford-Marshall Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Michael Eugene Linkenhoker, Sr., was born January 29, 1969 in Omaha, NE, to Jerry Lee Linkenhoker and Sharlyn Marie (Schooley) Linkenhoker Trudell. He was a 1987 graduate of Fremont-Mills High School in Tabor, IA. On February 14, 1989, he married Rose Sola. The couple moved to Puerto Rico in 1990 where their first son Mike, Jr., was born and they were blessed with a second son Matthew after returning to Thurman in 1991. After that time he became employed with a detective and security guard service in Omaha. Later he became a successful auto salesman and enjoyed sales, holding several managerial sales positions. Mr. Linkenhoker was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Linkenhoker; fraternal grand mother Kathleen Hiatt; maternal grandfather Clarence Schooley and step father Clifford Trudell. Survivors include sons Michael E. Linkenhoker, Jr., and Amber Whited of Sidney and Omaha,NE, and Matthew Linkenhoker of Sidney; former wife Rose Linkenhoker of Sidney; mother Sharlyn Trudell of Thurman; grandmother Alene Schooley of Sidney; and grandfather Max Linkenhoker of Indiana. Also surviving are three brothers Jeff Linkenhoker and wife Nelle of Thurman, Greg Linkenhoker and wife LaNae of Crescent, IA, and Robert Linkenhoker and wife Kim of Thurman; very special friend Stephanie Burke and her daugher Megan and friend Tim of Missouri Valley, IA; step-sisters Shelli, Denease, Julie and Cindy; step-brothers Jim, John, Joe, Rodney, Tim and Jack; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
