The bees of a next door neighbor, Mrs. SHURTLIFF, took a notion to swarm and Mr. and Mrs. ROUTSON kindly went to assist her in corralling them, when nearly the whole swarm attacked Mr. ROUTSON with a vengeance. He fled for home and fell in a faint upon his door step with the stinging pests pursuing and continuing their onslaught all the time. A doctor was called and rendered all aid possible but although able to walk about at present, Mr. ROUTSON's vocal organs are temporarily paralyzed. Mrs. ROUTSON also received several stings on the head that caused her face to swell almost beyond recognization but strange to say the owner, Mrs. SHURTLIFF escaped unhurt. Mrs. SHURTLIFF was Ann DAILEY SHURTLIFF, widow of Cyrenus SHURTLIFF, Tabor town marshal prior to his death in 1905. Ann SHURTLIFF died in 1920.
