Sept. 17, 2009. "Goldie Iverson died September 4"; (her picture appears). -- Funeral services for Goldie G. Iverson, 85, of Springfield, MO, formerly of Sidney, IA, were held September 10, 2009, at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic, MO. Mrs. Iverson, 85, of Springfield,MO, died September 4, 2009, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO. Meadors Funeral Home of Republic, MO, was in charge of arrangements. Goldie Iverson was born October 26, 1923, in Emerson, IA, the daughter of Walter Perry and Lucy Pearl (Sparks) Long. After graduating from high school, her first job was as a telephone operator. She also had been employed at the Fremont County Home near Sidney, IA, Henry Field Nursery in Shenandoah, IA, and was a seamstress at the Pendleton Woolen Mills in Nebraska City, NE. She also served as a volunteer grandparent at the Glenwood State School in Glenwood, IA. After moving to Missouri in 2005 to be near her daughter, she joined and was very active in the Church of the Rock in Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wesley Iverson, on October 12, 1977, six siblings, Juanita, Naomi, Bernard, Lela, Merle and Bessie. Survivors include two children, Allen Iverson and Karen Ollie, both of Springfield, MO; a grandson and his wife, Chris and Mary Ollie, of Council Bluffs, IA; a sister-in-law Betty Long, two special friends, Julie Cramblit of Springfield, MO, land former son-in-law Jim Ollie, of Council Bluffs, IA.
