Feb. 22, 1923. "CORA ESTELLE FORNEY". -- Cora Estelle, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.J. N. Brown was born March 17, 1861 and died at the Mercy hospital at Council Bluffs February 17, 1923 from a complication of ailments at the age of 41 year 11 months. She had been in poor health for several years, but had always been cheerful and fighting to regain her health until the last. Early in life she united with the Chrisian church in Barlett and remained a true Christian the rest of her life. In 1899 she was united in marriage to Wilbur Buckingham and to this union one son, Fred, was born who now lives in Clarinda. On September 5, 1905, she was united in marriage to Clarence Forney and to this union two children were born, Margaret Louise and Leta Maria, both of whom are at home. She was an affectionate wife and mother and will be greatly missed in the home. She leaves to mourn her loss besides the husband and daughters, one sister, Mrs. Roy Leeka of Thurman, one half-sister, and two half-brothers, Mrs. C. A. Harless and Will brown of Bartlett and James Brown of California. A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Her nephews acted as pall bearers, the high school girls of Barlett were flower girls, followed by a long concourse of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Chas. Aitken at the Christian church in Thurman. Burial was made in Thurman cemetery. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
