Feb. 22, 1923. -- "MARRIED AT LAURENS". -- On Thursday afernoon, February 15, at four o'clock the marriage of Miss Hulda Focht, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Focht of Sidney and Edward James Blakely of Randolph was quietly solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Anderson at Laurens, Iowa. Rev. Claude R. Cook of Randolph accompanied the groom to Laurens and performed the ceremony which united the two in bonds of matrimony. The couple left the same evening for Des Moines to spend their honeymoon and expect to be at home to their many friends on the Blakely farm near Randolph after March 15. Hulda is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Focht and was born and raised here in this community and graduated from the local schools. She has been a very successful teacher and spent three years in Washington, D. C., during which time she was engaged in war work and later in the Internal Revenue office. For the past year she has been office assistant in the office of the Fremont County Farm Bureau where her capabilites were thoroughly tested and where she has made hosts of friends, being considered one of the best assistants in the state. Following the departure of the county agent she took over the work of the office and handled it in a very creditable manner and the Farm Bureau management is loath to part with her. She faithfully stayed by the Farm Bureau until the date set for her to assume the duties as housewife and matron. Mr. Blakely is a popular young man of Randolph and a highly esteemed citizen of his community. He is already a successful farmer and possesses ability which means even greater promise. The Herald cordially joins the host of friends of this young couple in wishing for them a smooth and pleasant way along the path of married life.
