January 3, 1946. "Services Held For Mrs. A. A. Irwin". -- Jennie Lou Brown, daughter of Sarshell and Frances Jane Brown was born August 3, 1874 in Atchison county, MO. and passed away at the Hamburg hospital December 26, 1945 at the age of 71 years 3 months and 28 days. She was the eldest daughter of a family of seven children. She moved with her family to Fremont county when 14 years of age and attended high school at Hamburg. She united with the Church of Christ at Liberty School house near Farragut in March 1893, during the ministry of Claude E. Hill. She was a devoted Christian the remaining 52 years of her life. The family moved to Riverton in March 1895. There she was united in marriage to A. A. Irwin, Dec. 17, 1905. To this union one daughter, Bertha, was born. In 1937 they moved to Sidney here she resided at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her husband, A. A. Irwin, of Sidney; her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Broughton of Shenandoah; three grandchildren, Mrs. Marjorie Barnes of Hamburg, Don and Mary Broughton of Shenandoah; and one great granddaughter, Shirley Barnes of Hamburg; one sister Mrs. H. W. McCluskey of Sidney and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Crawford Funeral home in Sidney Friday, Dec. 28, at two o'clock conducted by Rev. O. B. Chastain of Omaha. Music was furnished by Mrs. Miriam Barbour, Mrs. Ralph Buttercase, Mrs. Lawrence Beedle and Mrs. O. B. Chastain with Mrs. W. C. Irwin accompanying at the piano. Pall bearers were Roy Cannon, Bill Perkins, Ferrin Evans, Ralph Buttercase, Tommy Snell and Ivan Reeves. Interment was made at Riverton. Out of town relatives attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Larry Barnes of Shirley of Hamburg Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Broughton, Mary and Tom, of Shenandoah Gratz Brown of Rockport, MO Nan Brown of Oklahoma City Mrs. Olive Brown of Council Bluffs Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hopkins and son of Hamburg Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Irwin of Nebraska City Mrs. Myrtle Kusgen of Council Bluffs Marvin Lehr of Council Bluffs Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd McCluskey of Pacific Junction Mrs. E. H. Markham of Nebraska City Mrs. Augusta Milbern of Council Bluffs Mrs. Tom Reeves and son of Nebraska City Mr. and Mrs. Ed Shoemacker of Council Bluffs Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson and daughters of Nebraska City.
