June 8, 1922. CHARLES EUGENE ELLIS. -- Charles Eugene Ellis, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L.Ellis died at his home in north Tabor on Tuesday afternoon, May 30th. Charles, familiarly known as "Chuck", was born in Tabor,Iowa on August 23, 1909. He had been in poor health since December, 1921, when it was discovered that he had leakage of the heart. Since that time his illness had gradullay become more severe until he was confined to his bed on March 3rd. The best of care and treatment was given him by his family and physicians but death was inevitable. During the long weeks of his illness although he suffered great pain, he was always kind and patient, greeting those who cared for him with ready smiles and witty remarks. Chuck was a clever and intelligent boy and a general favorite with all who knew him. He was well known and admired by the old as well as the young and was always willing to talk in his cheerful way with everyone. Although frail in body he was deeply interested in athletics, base ball being a passion with him. He knew all the finer points of the game, the best players, and their positions and could discuss these with anyone. He was dearly loved by his school mates, his teachers and by all who came in contact with him. His ready wit and happy disposition caused all who saw or spoke to him to feel happier for having known him. He leaves to mourn his loss, his father and mother, brothers and sisters, four grandparents and a host of other relatives and friends.
