While a child his parents moved to Washigton, D.C. where they resided until the time of their deaths. There were 15 children in Mr. Hill's father's family, ten girls and five boys, the subject of this sketch being the youngest. There is one brother Francis, buried in Sidney. Four sisters and one brother are still living, all in Washington, D.C.The surviving brother is Richard; one brother died of Cholera in St. Louis. >From Washington, D.C., Mr.Hill went to St. Louis, and then to New Orleans, and then to St. Joseph, from which point he came to Sidney. His residence in Sidney covered a period of about 47 years. Married Eliza Ritchie of this county in 1862. To them were born six children, four boys and two girls, of whom three boys and one girl are living at present. During his residence in Sidney he built four business houses.
