C. Harmon died Sunday, aged 81 years; was a veteran of 2 wars; his wife is also sick; burial at Waubonsie. -- Bartlett, Jan. 24, 1901 George Harrington, 20 years, son of Cyrus Harrington of Tabor, died Tuesday.--Oct. 8, 1903. J. J. Harris was county superintendent and a resident for some time; died in California about 6 months ago. Is to be buried in Hamburg. -- April 17, 1902. (The paper a week later says he is to be buried at Sidney!) Chris Harrison died last Thursday; buried at Tabor. -- Tabor, Aug. 10, 1899. Miss Nellie Harrison whose home is in Tabor died at the Pres. Hosp. in Omaha last Sat. with appendicitis. She was buried in Tabor last Monday. Miss Harrison was quite well acquainted in different parts of the county, as she has been teaching school for some time. Mrs. Charles Hastings, born in Abinghan, Illinois - died Aug. 22, 1904 aged 52 years in Locust Grove. Buried at Shenandoah. Leaves husband and 9 children. Lived in this country 25 years. Mrs. Clint Hatcher died at Glenwood; buried at Thurman; sister of James Creps and Mrs. G. T. Forney east of Thurman. -- Oct. 27, 1904 William D. Hatten of Seattle, Washington, died. Resided in Sidney several years. --Feb. 14, 1901 Charles Havens, born June 3, 1830 at Birdsell, NY - died Apr. 21, 1901 in Sidney; married Eliza Fuller on DEc. 3, 1854 at Oramel, NY. Eight children, two of whom are deceased: Jay of Sidney; Frank of Sidney; Mrs. Pettit of Sidney, Ed of Creston; Mrs. Mowery of Creston, Mrs. Keating of Omaha. WAs a member of Co. "E", 29th Iowa Inf., Capt. Bowens was his first Captain, and, Thomas H. Benton was his commander. Burial at Sidney....Capt. Atkinson of near Thurman, Capt. of Co. "D", 19th Iowa Infantry, attended his funeral. Minnie Louise Mattes married Oscar Leroy Hays (son of Benj. and Ella Kerkhuff Hays), born May 23, 1886 near Westboro, MO - d. Dec. 9, 1971; married on Mar. 14, 1909. Son Willard of Riverton; Mrs. Howard (Nina) Osborne of Council Bluffs; son George Graydon of Farragut. Mrs. Minnie Hays of Tarkio is the only remaining daughter of Jacob Mattis.
