She was the daugther of William Wright and Nacy Ellen Keith Barnes. She died Oct. 17, 1992 at Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 81. She grew up in Hamburg, Ia. and graduated from the Hamburg High School in 1928. She married Everett V. "Tony" Mead on March 25, 1935. To this union three children were born. They moved to Moberly, MO. where he was stationed with the CCC Camps. She returned to Hamburg to live with her parents when he husband was assigned to the Philippines in 1941. Between 1946 - 1962 she traveled to many parts of the United States and Paris, France while her husband served as Lt. Col.. in the army. She has lived in Salt Lake City for the past 30 years. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy M. Cherry, of Seattle, Wash; two sons Michael K. Mead and Richard A. Mead, both of Sandy, Utah; five gradnchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Barnes and Charlie Barnes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; four brothers and a sister, Clarence, Gerald, Gilbert, Wilton and Gladys. Memorial services were held Oct. 20, at Larkin Mortuary. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Hamburg, Ia. N.B.: Graveside services for the cremated remains of Lt. Col. Everett Mead and wife were held May 29, 1993 at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Capt. Mead had been released from captivity in September 1945.--W.F.
