September 14, 1933. "Percival News".--This community was sorry to learn Saturday that Mrs. Mary McMunn had passed away that evening at her home south of Percival. While she has been ill for the past two years, she was taken worse only about a week ago, and failed rapidly to the end. Mary C. Mead was born January 8, 1860, in Cass county, Missouri, and passed away September 8, 1933, being 73 years of age. She was married to Edward J. McMunn who preceded her in death seven years ago. After his passing she with her son Ford continued to live on the home place which has been her home the past thirty years. She was well known and held in high regard by those making her acquaintance. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Talbert Mead, pioneers of Fremont county. She is surived by the followiing children: Charles McMunn, Norfolk, Nebraska; Ford E. McMunn and Mrs. Fred Boyd of Percival; Mrs. Hubert Brown, of Hamburg; Mrs. Mary Hudson of Lorimor, Iowa. All were with their mother at the end. Also, two sisters and six brothers, Frank Mead, Sidney; Joe Mead, Payne; John Mead, Dunbar, Nebraska; Talbert, Tom and Sam Mead, Mrs. Martha Wertz and Mrs. Allie Kelsey, all of Percival. Funeral services were held at the house Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock. Six nephews served as pallbearers. Interment was made in the Wyuka cemetery in Nebraska City.
