I'm copying the following from Mabel's notes. 1.--H. Bruce, a brother-in-law of A.J. Singleton, had a farm near him on the west.--Hist. of Fremont County, page 511. 2.--1839: A. J. Singleton settled at Pleasant Grove in 1839 - 40 (page 509); second birth in Fremont county was J. W. Singleton in 1840 (page 510); A. J. Singleton came from another part of the county in the spring of 1852 and settled on section 7. His son Isaac first male child born in the township (page 614).--All from the 1881 Hist. of Fremont county. 3.--1840: A. J. Singleton located on the south side of Pleasant Grove in 1840.--Lingenfelter, page 5. 4.--1845: A. J. Singleton appointed road overseer of District No. 1.--Atchison county court, May term, 1845. 5.--1845: Election for Bluff township, Atchison county, August 1845, to be held at the house of Andrew J. Singleton...A.J. Singleton is to be one of the election judges.--Atchison county court, June term, 1845. 6.--1845: A.J. Singleton allowed four dollars for his services as guard in the case of MISSOURI - vs - MOUNTS DOVER.--Atchison county Court, June term, 1845. 7.--1845: A. J. Singleton was one of the first grand jurors for Atchison county, Sept. 1845.--Hist. of Holt and Atchison co., MO. 8.--1846: August election for Bluff township to be at the home of A. J. Singleton.--Atchison county Court, June term, 1846. 9.--1849: First session of the county commissioners, Sept. 10, 1849, approved the bond of A.J.
