    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Stanbrough, Buck Classification: Marriage Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ok.2ADE/1207.3.1 Message Board Post: Randy: I was copying a marriage record from a microfilm made by the office in Des Moines, Iowa, which has such records from Fremont county, Iowa, for 1898...Whenever a couple married, they were requested to provide the information which accompanies the Stanbrough - Buck marriage license. (Actually, some have quite a bit more than this license provides--and as you would expect, some have only the bare necessities!) Elsewhere here on Fremont county's Rootsweb, is information from a lady from the west coast who spent her good money requesting a copy of a license she was interested in, only to receive a reply that it did not exist--and of course the office kept her money! . I was able to backtrack on my notes, looked up the microfilm so I could make a copy of it, and sent it to her. WELL, what I'm saying is, think twice before investing. That Asian flu epidemic of 1918 also hit hard in Fremont county, many dying.--Walter
