"Death of Mrs. Susan Parker".--Mrs. Susan Parker, wife of the late Thomas Parrker, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Drumm, in the Pleasant Valley district, two miles southwest of Bartlett, on Wednesday the 13th., after a short sickness. She was one of the early settlers of that community and one of the excellent women of the old school as her educational and social advantages were meagre, but her goodness of heart and kindly nature gained for her the friendship of all. The funeral was held today at 1 o'clock at the Pleasant Valley school house, the sermon being preached by Rev. Williams, pastor of the Baptist church of Hamburg. Interment in the Thurman cemetery.
