I'm copying the following from Mabel's notes: 1.--1838: Richard Flanagan, bachelor, resided in what is now (1881) Franklin township, coming to the county in 1838. Murdered for his money Feb. 10, 1842, being about 35 years old.--1881 Hist. of Fremont county, page 525. (Page 509, says he settled in Pleasant Grove 1839 - 1840.) 2.--1849: Nathan Lewis and Margaret Flanagan were married June 17, 1849 by James R. Cummins, J.P.--Atchison county, Missouri, Marriage Book A, page 25. 3.--1850: Fremont county Federal Census: Margaret Flanagan....29....b. lreland. 4.--1851: Margaret Flanagan, 29, and Thomas Maden (?), 31, were married Nov. 13, 1851 at her residence.--Fremont county marriage records.
