BUT, Sanford Cowles married a daughter of John M. and Mary M. (Dyas) Breeding. This Mrs. Emma Cowles seems to be a generation later than Mabel's Chauncy Cowles' generation. May I suggest you surf Rootsweb? By this I mean (1) type in www.rootsweb.com in the address bar (and "Enter"). This will give you the home page from which rootsweb operates. Scroll down the left hand side of the screen until you come to the Message Boards and click on the top blue line. This will give you a chance to chose which country you are interested in. CLICK on U.S. This will give you the choice of the all the states in the country. CLICK on "Missouri". When this comes up, and then you will have to chose the county, which in your case would be "Ray". When Ray county, Missouri comes up, (1) type in one of the names of your interest, in the SEARCH space; and (2) click the circle in front of Ray county, or else you will get the whole shabang if you let "ALL BOARDS" have the eye; (3) The click the GO next to the Search Space.
