BUT, what outfit did Fred belong to? I live near Iowa City, so, could look for information concerning it at the University Library or at the State Historical Society of Iowa located in Iowa City. Our Dutch correspondent says he is interested in all of his crew that might have been on board. It's not that I know there is information available here, but I do know I would have to be much more specific than giving Fred's name and date of death.--Walter Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Have you thought about becoming an Iowa County Coordinator? Right now is one of the best times to volunteer! Iowa has six beautiful counties available and ready to be adopted. Greene ( http://iagenweb.org/greene/ ) - Take a leisurely stroll and see for yourself that Greene would be a wonderful county to coordinate. The site has very nice, newly designed pages. Any new coordinator coming on board would have a great advantage with the new pages. So much information and room for more. Lucas ( http://iagenweb.org/lucas/ ) -- the home page has a new look! Lots of great photos have been posted. The potential for new data is endless! Fremont ( http://iagenweb.org/fremont/) - "A view from the Attic" is without a doubt a favorite. It's a very well organized county hoping for a new coordinator. Guthrie ( http://iagenweb.org.guthrie/ ) -- has a nice design and color. Lots of great data and plenty of room for growth! This is a good county to give your personal touch. Buena Vista (http://iagenweb.org/buenavista/ ) - very well organized and nicely designed. This county has lots of great records with a potential for a lot more. Monroe (http://iagenweb.org/monore ) -- the Coal Mines information is really fascinating! Anyone with a history with miners would find this county a real plus. Monroe is anxious to have a new coordinator. As you can see, Iowa has wonderful counties to choose from. When you have decided which one you will make as your own, drop us a note at welcome_to_iagenweb@iagenweb.org with your choice and we will send you an application and get you going! We will also answer any questions that you may have. Best wishes, Conni Mac & Peggy IAGenWeb Welcome Hostesses welcome_to_iagenweb@iagenweb.org
