    1. [IAFREMON] The Fox harness shop in Riverton, Iowa
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: farwellwalter Surnames: Fox, Baldwin, Kidd, Cowden, Ross Classification: biography Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.iowa.counties.fremont/7501/mb.ashx Message Board Post: SIDNEY ARGUS-HERALD. June 12, 1952. -- Mr. and Mrs. William Fox observed their golden Wedding anniversary on Thursday, June 5, and their son, Arnold and family were dinner guests in observance of the day. A son Russell and family of Lincoln could not be present. Mr. and Mrs. Fox came to Riverton in 1905 from Missouri. He operated a harness shop until two years ago, when he retired, as harness is not as much in demand now. He was the oldest merchant in Riverton at that time. His son Arnold, now operates a men's clothing and shoe store in the Fox building. Mr. and Mrs. Fox have five grandchildren. N.B.: As I remember, the Fox Harness shop was south of the main intersection and on the west side of the street, in between the Kidd store and Cowden Riverton bank. My father bought a set of harness from him. Dr. Baldwin's office (He was the Farwell's family doctor for years, and came all the way over to Walnut Creek to guide the stork when yours truly was born at my great uncle Charlie Ross's place, on March 29, 1928.) was still further south, and on the west side of the north-south street.
