I'm copying the following from Mabel's notes. 1.--1826: David Study, b. Ohio in 1826. Enlisted in Co. "A", Mormon Battalion, and fought through Mexican War. To Fremont county in 1849. Married M. Ettleman, formerly of Ohio, in 1849.--1881 Hist. of Fremont county, page 723 2.--1826: Son of John and Barbara Study. Born Dec. 2, 1826 in Richland county, Ohio. 1835 moved with father's family to Missouri; while living there family united with newly organized church of Latter Day Saints. In 1839, moved to Adams Co., ILL and the next year to Hancock county. In 1826 David joined westward migration of the Mormons and at Kanesville joined the U.S. Army and served to end of the war with Mexico. Returned to Iowa in 1849; married Mary Ann Ettleman, who was born in Stark county, Ohio, in 1831; united with L.D.S. in 1841, emigrated to Iowa in 1846, stopped for a time at Kanesville,--Stanley in "Argus - Herald" of July 4, 1957, page 7. 3.--1846: He was in the Mormon Battalion, Co. Their Daughter Maude May Wilkinson married John Arthur Trahan, they were my Great Grandparents. Based on family notes, Alice died in Grand Junction, Colorado during a Flu epidemic in the winter of 1918-19. Walter Died in Petaluma, California in 1943 and was buried in Colorado. I did not know Alice's parents until I read your message. Could you tell me what your documentation is. Thanks Randy Rmespinola@aol.com

Singleton came from another part of the county in the spring of 1852 and settled on section 7.
