She married Walter Saul Wilkinson. Their daughter, Maude May Wilkinson was my Great Grandmother. Maude also had a sister named Nova. After reading your messages with Walter Farwell, chances are we are distant cousins. I have done some searching in the census and found Stanbrough family with Jesse listed in the 1870 and 1880 census for Illinois, Harrison County, Madison Township. I also found the Burk family listed in 1870 census for Illinois, Harrison County, Madison Township. Nanney is listed as 6 years old with brother Lewis who is also 6 years old. Jerome is listed as 9 years old. I can send copies of the census if you do not have access. Could you tell me how you know your info and if you have any documentation. Hope to hear from you. He was one of about 12 children. His parents moved the family to Minnesota and settled in Mazeppa. they were involved in farming and mortuary/furniture businesses. The other children are belived to have been, Daniel (aka Joker) (who married Effie Redding), William, Michael, Joseph, John, Ruth, Clara (married Jake Huberty) , Svbella (married George Sands), and Katherine (never Married). Three of the children had nick names. Daniel - "Joker" and I am not sure who was who, but there was "Crip" -for a lame leg, and "Motz". Despite the large size of this family no one seems to know the names of this clan's parents or the connections to Bellevue Ia. If you can shed any light on this I would appreciate it. Any information is helpful. Thanks

Surnames: Stanbrough, Buck Classification: Marriage Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ok.2ADE/1207.3.1 Message Board Post: Randy: I was copying a marriage record from a microfilm made by the office in Des Moines, Iowa, which has such records from Fremont county, Iowa, for 1898...Whenever a couple married, they were requested to provide the information which accompanies the Stanbrough - Buck marriage license. (Actually, some have quite a bit more than this license provides--and as you would expect, some have only the bare necessities!) Elsewhere here on Fremont county's Rootsweb, is information from a lady from the west coast who spent her good money requesting a copy of a license she was interested in, only to receive a reply that it did not exist--and of course the office kept her money! . I was able to backtrack on my notes, looked up the microfilm so I could make a copy of it, and sent it to her. WELL, what I'm saying is, think twice before investing. That Asian flu epidemic of 1918 also hit hard in Fremont county, many dying.--Walter

Neb. residents going to church in Hamburg, Iowa Classification: Biography Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ok.2ADE/1890 Message Board Post: Should anyone be interested, the Hamburg "Reporter" of August 1, 2002, printed an unindentified picture of a church which stood at the corner of "E" street and Washington in Hamburg, Iowa. The 1904 "Directory of Hamburg", page 33, identifies the location of the Latter Day Saints church as having been at that address "for the last 10 or 12 years". I do not have many notes on that church, but am of the understanding that the LDS had an "organization" on McKissick's Island dating from around the 1870's.... McKissick's Island is actually a part of Nemaha county, Nebraska, even though it's located just a short distance southwest of Hamburg, AND on the east side of the Missouri river! Of course, the point is that there might be someone from Nemaha county looking for lost church records, that might be found amongst those in Hamburg, Iowa.
