    3. Karla, the Cathedral Cemetery was the Third Street Cemetery located on Kelly's Bluff. Just up third street behind the cathedral. There is no cemetery there today, but the bodies were not all removed from the property, a few years ago, when they were building a home on the site, remains were found and moved to Mt Olivet Cemetery. In Mt Olivet, section one there are several graves that were reenturned there after the cemetery was closed. The cemetery was closed because Bishop Loras did not want the Catholic Church to have to pay taxes on the land. He then ordered the cemetery closed. I have more information if you would like more, please let me know and e mail me pvtly at carolp@dubuque.net and i will give you more. al >From: "Karla VF Staudt" <staudt@cptelco.net> >Reply-To: IADUBUQU-L@rootsweb.com >To: IADUBUQU-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [IA..Dubuque] Re: Hore and Murphy Funeral Home 1902 >Date: Mon, 4 Feb 2002 06:39:17 -0500 > >Thank you Jeannie!
