Hello fellow members of the Dubuque County list. Can use your help. I am looking for information on William H. Meyers who lived in the Dubuque County area from 1855 until l894, or later. He came from Germany with his parents to Iowa sometime in 1855. William H. Meyers married Martha Hinde, daughter of William and Jane Hinde on 15 Oct. 1870. Martha died on 20 Jan. 1874, leaving William with two small children, Martha J. and George W. William H. Meyers and the two children were living with his mother, Constance Meyers at the time of the 1880 census in Vernon Township. William's father, Michael (or Christopher) Meyers must have died sometime shortly before that census. William H. Meyers married his second wife, Katie Crawford, in Farley, Iowa on 16 June 1891. It was her second marriage. Katie was the daughter of John Wesley Lambert and Lovinia Smith Lambert. They had moved to Dubuque County from New York State. She was 43 at the time of this marriage. Katie (Mrs. William) Meyers is buried near Farley, having died on 28 Apr. 1839. Any information on members of this family would be appreciated.
