Hello Daniel, Thank you for the information! Adam, his father, William and Adam's sons and their families went to North Carolina from Maryland (with a short time in Virginia on the way). They forded the Catawba River and built tempory housing, a form of stockade in 1747, they built a house in 1754. The house was standing with Sherrill descendants living in it until it burned down in 1954 (date may be wrong, I'm going by memory). When the bounderies for the state of Tennessee changed some of North Carolina became apart of Tennessee, that's how my gggg grandfather came to be in TN. Then a group of them moved up thru Kentucky, some stayed there, some spread out to other Southern States. One of the groups came up to Indiana and a few of our Indiana Uncles went to Ohio and Illinois. I know that Almima Sherrill and her husband Andrew Jackson Chandler, her nephew, William Henry Sherrill and his family moved to Illinois. We are missing another branch, Isaac B Sherrill (they spell it Shirrell/Shirrel. We are also missing Jonathan "John" (married Rebecca Davis) and his brother Jeremiah "Jerry" (married to Elizabeth "Liz" Truax) Sherrill/Sherrell/ Shirrell. I'll see what I can find and will get back with you.
