    3. Ruth, Sorry, but no RANNAL or WADDLE in the History of Dubuque County. I did find one MASSEY entry. This is Frederick I. MASSEY, page 695 He was the European manager for Massey0Harris Company of Toronto, Canada. He was born in Lockport, New York 2 May 1842, the sone of Isaac Fredrick MASSEY. In the civil war, he mustered in at Batavia, NY Company A - 105th New Your Volunteer Infantry. Then transferred to the 94th NY. He was Commissioned a 1st Lt. in the Army of the Potomac. He fought at Chancellerville and was brevetted a major-colonel. He married Miss Alleen L. LANGWORTHY of Dubuque 2 October 1866. He moved to Dubuque in 1869. He died in 1908. I did not type the entry verbatum, but will if this is of interest to you. I also checked Nicholas Gonner's Luxembourgers in the New World. I found the following index for the Luxemburger Gazette, which is available on microfilm at Loras College and I think Iowas Historical Society. Arthur MASSEY 30 December 1913 page 12 I'm sure you are aware of the settlement on the Mississippi just south of Dubuque Massey Station. I think the MASSEY family was quite prominent in Dubuque in the early years. Hope this helps.
