    1. [IA..Dubuque] To Jim in Alabama
    2. Jim, no doubt you are being besieged with inquiries since you mentioned this Dubuque County history book you have. I hesitated, but then decided I would write. Are there any Gantenbeins listed in this book? Just curious. Ruth Gantenbein Jenkins (RuthJenk@aol.com)

    3. Ruth, I do not have any Gantenbein biography in the History of Dubuque County. This does not mean that there may not be some mention within the various textual parts of the book. Just that there is no biography. The book is some 940 pages. If you have access to the Luxewmburger Gazette, copies on microfilm and at Loras College, I did find the following Gantenbein references in Nicholas Gonner's Luxembourgers in the New World A. GANTENBEIN 13 April 1887 page 8 Andreas GANTENBEIN 16 June 1896 page 8 Bert GANTENBEIN 5 April 1910 page 10 Jim ----- Original Message ----- From: <RuthJenk@aol.com> To: <IADUBUQU-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 30, 2002 8:39 AM Subject: [IA..Dubuque] To Jim in Alabama > Jim, no doubt you are being besieged with inquiries since you mentioned this > Dubuque County history book you have.
