This sounds very bizarre. Records from 1852 cannot be seen by the public? Or is it that the public is not permitted to handle the originals? Not the case in Maryland. Want to see a will from 1743? If they have the original and it's in reasonable condition, the state archives will let you see it. -- Craig O'Donnell Sinepuxent Ancestors & Boats <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~fassitt/> The Proa FAQ <http://boat-links.com/proafaq.html> The Cheap Pages <http://www2.friend.ly.net/~dadadata/> Sailing Canoes, Polytarp Sails, Bamboo, Chinese Junks, American Proas, the Bolger Boat Honor Roll, Plywood Boats, Bamboo Rafts, &c. _________________________________ -- Professor of Boatology -- Junkomologist -- Macintosh kinda guy Friend of Wanda the Wonder Cat, 1991-1997. _________________________________

    2. The Werth Family
    3. Hi, I am looking for information on my Robert Kirkby. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts probably in the late 1790's. I do not know his parent's names but they were from England. I am wondering if Robert's parent's names are William Kirkby and Hannah Church but I am only guessing this from info that I have seen posted and from looking at the names of Robert's children. I am posting to this list because one of Robert's and Jane's sons, William Tucker Kirkby, lived in Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa. Please look at the outline below and if you have any clues about this family please e-mail me. 2. Kathy, The books include the following information: Columns: 1: page no. in the original volume 2: name as given in the original signature 3: ages as of date of declaration was signed 4: nationality of declarer 5: date of landing in USA 6 date of signing declaration Name Index that corresponds with the before mentioned columns. From there you can obtain the State of Iowa, Dubuque County -Declaration of Intent that was issued from the Clerk of the District Court and then onto your passenger records... (P.S. your family members are probably in book 2 or 3, and not in Book 4 as I had mentioned.... (this I have in my inventory) Much Success!! C.Ehlers Mithrus1@aol.com
