Readable parts include: which crashed head on, . a two day investigation by Louisa county Sheriff Robt R. Lewis and County Attorney ... The investigation found that the south bound car said to have been driven by Schrader, was on the wrong side of the road in a no passing zone at the time of the accident. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kemp of Grandview were wittnesses to the crach. Authorities are continuing the investigation. With Adey were his wife, Mrs. alma Adey, 40, and their daughter, Marilyn 13, both of whom are also in Hershey hospital with fractures and other severe injuries. Both are considered improved, but still in serious condition, it is reported. The Adey family in a 1950 Pontiac, was enroute to Iowa City to visit a relative in a hospital there when Courtney and Schrader were enroute to Wapello to call for dates. The condition of both vehicles following the accident gives mute evidence of the terrific impact with which they met. It is termed a miracle that any of the occupants of either car emerged alive. Killed Instantly It is believed that Courtney and Adey were instantly killed. Dr. A.A. Eggleston of Burlington, who happened along shortly after the tragedy administered first aid and pronounced both men dead. Clarence Dudley Adey was born at Hocking July 15, 1909, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Adey. He married Alma Fergison at Centerville on June 22, 1931. He served two years in the U.S. Navy moving to Burlington about three years ago to serve as assistant in the Burlington social security office. Surviving are the widow, a son, Donald 17, daughter Marily, twin sisters, Mrs. Max Martin, Oskaloosa, and Mrs. Neil Bryan, Grinnell, and the parents, who live in Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by a brother. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Prugh's chapel in Burlington with final services and burial in Oskaloosa.
